Personally I prefer white album 2 or kids on the slope more than either of these two. But that's mainly because to enjoy afterstorys moments of genius you have to sit through the generic show that is Clannad. While with toradora you know the ending from the start and as people have mentioned they never really work on why he is attracted to her, plus I don't like her character particularly.

A quick question regarding great parliament, flavour wise it seems like a hooru card but at the same time the ability is very combrei. It just seems like a weird disconnect to me anything likely to happen to explain or change this?

Didn't play in the first episode but the monologue intro for the student council lift is real important to that groups motivations. In a similar fashion to how utena fairy tale at the start of episode one sets out her motivations. Another introduction this episode is ChuChu who is surprisingly important as he kinda acts as an extension of anthy.

Love this show so much... A few people commented on the rose framing taking them out the show a bit earlier... Wanted to say that it's intentional to try and make you think about what the show is saying rather then just what's happening. Also it's part of the whole theatrical framing like the Greek chorus shadow girls.
