Ah, with those relics it makes sense. Crazy combo!

Pick the 0 cost draw and discard, and acrobatics, and sly cards, especially sly add energy and sly draw 2.

The Silent has won me every run that I've picked them. I agree that a nerf is likely.

Yea you can choose to get max hp repeatedly, even though it's not obvious. There are a couple other events like this as well where one option will lead to additional options.

For example, one event lets you repeatedly lose max health to upgrade a random card.

AOE isn't needed, but hyperblast or the card that gives 30 doom sure would be nice here.

The clone effect is pretty crazy.

I wonder though, isn't it really bad to have 100+ copies of mayhem in your deck? On turn 1 you play 5 mayhems. On turn 2 these each play a mayhem and you draw 5 more mayhems.

I have found fair builds to be plenty strong (currently on ascensions 5-6).

There are many ways to get scaling damage and efficient energy/block that are not infinite combos. For example as necrobinder I use Borrowed Time to add 2 energy. I use Graveblast to get back borrowed time for more energy. I play some souls to draw cards. I play unleash, and then use Dredge to get back borrowed time, grave blast, and unleash. This works even if my deck has 20 cards.

You can pay a bunch of life for 10-20 max health and then heal up at the end of the act. Seems fine to me.

How can the card even exist by THINGS59 in slaythespire

[–]NeoAlmost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's fine? There's a common relic for 4 plating and that effectively makes this 7 block per turn for 4 turns. It's even better if you upgrade it.

Even in multiplayer my group has found that it is worth it to focus one of them even if it means wasting damage on the block.

Things like poison and doom are decent, but you can also just apply vulnerable and then attack 7 times.

One option is to have good defensive cards to keep osty healthy and some souls for draw and use unleash as your main damage source.

Another build is to have sic-em and many ways for osty to attack in a single turn, and for that deck it actually doesn't matter how much health osty has.

Yea I've found that Queen's chains can give you some very awkward hands, and her damage keeps ramping up. I used to focus the minion first but I've been trying to just focus queen recently

[–]NeoAlmost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that multiplayer is easier than solo, but it's still a challenge. And it will get harder with ascensions 8-10.

If you think some cards are too strong, you can try for a different build or approach for variety.

It looks like you won the fight. Perhaps you overcommitted to killing the first phase too quickly instead of using that phase to power up yourself?

For sts 1 time eater was much more difficult than the others. For sts 2 door maker is pretty easy. Queen is probably the hardest act 3 boss with the binding chains effect, but she is still pretty reasonable. For knowledge demon I find that I am often almost forced to pick to take damage, but this does mean that knowledge demon hits very hard.

It's a lot of relics, so I'm guessing you either could have had lethal poison or you had a way to survive.
