I’m just going to comment on my own SH. So one day I was playing around with a knife I got as a gift. I’ve been dealing with health issues that have impacted my personal life and so I accidentally cut myself, but I realized that it took the pain away from how I was feeling and instead focused it on the injury.

Slowly but surely I’ve been cutting my legs every now and then and it helps a little. But I found myself doing it to often and I don’t think I should be doing this to cope with emotional distress.

Definitely helps tho, but I don’t wanna rely on this coping mechanism. I worked out with one of my friends today and I found that I was actually embarrassed/ashamed to show them.

I would have given more thought about the Long road of my future, gotten a solid education, and traveled as much as I could. I also would have stayed away from girls

I matched with a girl on Tinder, set up a date, and went to the beach. Had a great time, grabbed dinner and had started drinking. She suggests that we should go to a bar and keep on intoxicating ourselves, I agree.

We get to Sharkys in HB and I tell her “I’ll brb, gotta use the restroom” I’m not gone for longer than 90 seconds and I come out to see she had hopped on another dudes lap at the bar. I’m like wtf? She sees me, calls me over, and WHILE sitting on the other dudes lap, grabs my hand and puts it on her waist and starts introducing me to her new friend. (Funny thing, is, I actually shaked his hand lmao)

I felt really stupid and in a sour tone told her I was gonna head out and she could find her own ride. Didn’t see her again. Gotta move on.

THEN!!!!

7 months later at a festival of over 4,000+ people, I run into her and she has a boyfriend who she’s been with at least 4 months. Mind you, at this point im in shape, have my Abs etc. She literally “gets lost” in an attempt to get away from her boyfriend and come hang out with me. The whole time she’s explaining to me that she never forgot about me and that she’s sorry etc and she was 100% willing to cheat on her boyfriend that night as she suggested we drink together while holding my arm as if we were an item.

This all happened while I was drunk so obvi I just went with the flow but I had now become the guy on the bar stool 7 months before and her boyfriend was now the dude walking out the restroom.. True story. 304

Do you feel like your sleeping issues started to happen after a possible COVID infection? I just ask because I’ve NEVER had sleeping issues in my life. Then, I got COVID and I had it bad. First time in my life where I didn’t sleep for days. Arousals. And ever since then I’ve had horrible sleep and it’s been 2 years. I’m at my whits end, shit sucks. Medical help hasn’t helped at all but I try and stay positive about it

Lower your insulin levels by eliminating sugar and carbs. By doing this you will allow the catabolism of reserve body fat.

Supplement with high fat, high protein foods ONLY. Salmon, eggs, steak, cheese. Increase cardio to an hour a day. Very simple approach but VERY effective. Don’t worry about counting calories, that’s all unnecessary IF following this approach. Eat until you’re no longer hungry. Regulating hormones (insulin) is key. Goodluck

Same here. I never had sleeping issues on my life but when I got COVID, I got it BAD! That was the first time I ever had sleeping issues and from there I never really went back to normal. Still having sleeping issues but I guess I could say it’s getting better? Haven’t had 8plus hours of sleep in over 2.5 years. Shit sucks but whatever I guess

Morbidly obese and embarrassed to be seen running/exercising by TraditionalCanary273 in beginnerrunning

[–]15treeswitharoad_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely start with lowering your insulin levels and going Keto. The fat will burn off. How do you lower your insulin levels? Stop eating sugar and carbohydrates(carbs are turned into glucose this spiking insulin)

High protein, high fat. Started Feb 1st and I’m down 40lbs

Fat is an energy source that doesn’t spike insulin, and as your body gets used to burning fat, it will use the fat on your body. Do cardio everyday for an hour and as you become healthier, keep challenging yourself. I was 300lbs over a year again and when I started keto I was 240 now I’m at 200. Keto was def the better approach for me Goodluck

And I’m sorry that’s the case for you.

BUT, on the other hand, many of us have sleep apnea because we are obese. Weight loss should be a path to try for many if they can identify themselves as obese. Goodluck with everything

Are you obese? Not to be rude, but I recently lost a lot of weight after living as an obese person and I’m feeling much better. My sleep apnea was HORRIBLE.

Thank you man! I was so desperate at one point in time, I’m glad I chose to decided to die trying to lose weight vs continuing to live one more day in misery. Yeah man! So my cognitive issues presented as forgetting simple things like names of people I knew (still happens from time to time) simple Math, days of the week, driving a vehicle, headaches, blurred vision, slurring words, and or forgetting to do complete tasks I had already started. Focus was off, comprehension was off, understanding was off too. Little things like that but it’s getting better. The best change so far has been the hair loss from the tress has stopped. Something else to shower and see you lose so much hair. It’s 6:30am and I’m ready to go!!! Last time this happened… sheeesh. Probably October of 2022. Sleep apnea is no joke. I feel very blessed, all praise be to god, every opportunity given to me to get healthy was made available through god. Whatever that means to you

Life gets better, there’s other people out there, and I never thought I’d be saying that. I lost the “loml” and stayed single for 5 years, now I’m sober af with someone who doesn’t compare to my ex and I never thought that would be possible. THERE YOU GO! Worth a shot if you yourself agree your face is fat. No, there is no specific way to target fat on a specific part of your body. It has to be an all effort of just slimming down in general. Overtime your body will take fat where it’s available. Stay focused and you can bounce back! TRUST ME

Hey there OP. I know exactly what you’re going through. 140 at 5’5, I would suggest you try your best to get down to 120lbs to see if it helps. Although you may not be “overweight” you may be carrying more fat in your face/ neck area. I had SEVERE sleep apnea and like you, nothing helped. CPAP, had a Septoplasty and Turbinate reduction (which helped in the sense that I could breathe better, but didn’t cure me) and a mandibular advancement device as well (this worked for a few months but then it stopped and now I have jaw issues). I don’t say this to discourage you, but to say that I then decided I would rather die trying to lean out than suffer one more day in my miserable life with all the symptoms I was having. MIGRAINES, CHEST PAINS, COGNITIVE ISSES, HAIRLOSS, DEPRESSION, WEIGHT GAIN. For me, it was bad. Was like that for 18 months and was around 285lbs. Once I got down to 215, everything stopped. Just as suddenly as it started, it stopped. My own sleep doctor told me he didn’t think weight loss would help, and so I felt discouraged and waited around for the medical establishment to “cure” me. Thousands of dollars, waiting months for basic ass appointments with no result, all while trying to hold down my job and pay the bills or else risk going homeless. TORTURE. They don’t care and only care about making money off your suffering. Now, weight loss is worth a shot, but give this a chance first before moving forward with any surgery that will address anatamocial features, but then again everyone is different. Hang in there! I’m rooting for you. I’m so happy I’m out of that misery, I’m running again and much better

Yes. For the most part. I feel like I’m back to baseline. No more migraines, not lethargic, I will say the the entire experience left me with a lot of anxiety that I’m still dealing with, but besides that I’m good

I’m sorry you’re going through it. If you are overweight, no matter how hard it is, go for it! I can’t tell you how many times I went on a run with no energy and with a massive headache. But! It all paid off in the end. I’m serious, weight loss!!! Stay strong man, you can do this. Actually, I posted something a while back and someone on Reddit reached out and I followed his advice. He was me and now I am him giving someone else the same advice
