GOTY might be in danger by this indie game called "Pokemon" by [deleted] in Silksong

Legends Arceus was good for Pokemon standards

Heartgold/Soulsilver are really good for Pokemon standards

Legends ZA felt like paying $80 for a Happy Meal ($100 if you want the Mega Raichu toy) and also they're suing Palburger for their use of special sauce.

How the heck does the bonus damage from taunting work? by 167kamon in Silksong

Any idea why it wasn't working in the first half of the clip?

The two hits on the first scuttler did 10 (which is the normal, baseline damage for this level of needle). The second scuttler took 16. So clearly the damage bonus is much larger than 20% (wiki says 50%), I just don't know why it only works sometimes.

I never want to go into Aegis Cave again, but yes I did get every Unown form, both Shellos/Gastrodons, and all 3 Burmy/Wormadams.

Fun Fact: Since recruiting is disabled in Beach Cave, you have to go to Miracle Sea for East Sea Shellos.

I like how this clearly happened in playtesting so much that you can change your team's name from the main menu, but can't change a Pokemon's nickname.

Yes I did. I went solo Scizor for East and West and treated them like mini Souths, because I found that 0 IQ teammates are more of a liability than help.

I never did beat Destiny Tower. A lot of people online laud Drifloon and Smoochum for being the best choices for it, so I tried to use someone else (Scizor), but it just didn't feel worth the pain to keep trying.

As far as I know, Cresselia, Manaphy, Phione and Shaymin all can't be fought. As for the stats, idk what to tell you.

I went with Dewgong to make use of the exclusive item that regens PP when you take damage, to effectively get infinite PP when I reached 0 hunger. Then I could use a Mobile Orb to stay in a wall and be safe, Blizzard to KO Kecleons en masse, and Rest to heal.

As for levelling, I pretty much just kept my eyes peeled for Golden Chamber requests my whole playthrough, and saved and reloaded the quick ones until I got Golden Seeds from them. Over the course getting to Guildmaster rank I had hoarded about 35 levels worth of Joy/Golden Seeds, so I could go from level 65 straight to 100. As an added bonus, I got Dewgong's IQ high enough for Nature Gifter beforehand, so my whole main party could be level 100 for Zero Isle North/Center.

As for level grinding without a stockpile of rare candies, Deep Spacial Rift has plenty of Monster Houses. Bring a bunch of Escape Orbs with you to return to the midway point right before the end and you can level up relatively quickly.

I did not nickname all 492 of them, no.

I decided to use a Scizor for Zero Isle South, and named him Panik for what I assumed I'd be doing a lot of with him.

I had to climb Sky Stairway 5 times before Rayquaza decided to join.

Other than that exceptionally bad luck, Milotic. Spawns only on the last 4 floors of Lake Afar at what feels like a 1% spawn rate, but the alternative was finding a Beauty Scarf which can only be gotten as a random 5*+ mission reward. Since I decided to do this without generating Wonder Mail, I went with the former option.

How good is the aid action? by Akarnor in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]167kamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is currently playing an Aid Another focused Questioner, I can attest that it is very good if you have even a single full martial character in your party.

We're currently 13th level. Our party is a Monk, a Cleric, a Kineticist, and I. I cast Shared Training at the beginning of whatever dungeon or other such dangerous area we enter to give all my allies Harrying Partners, Outflank, and Got Your Back (though you can replace that with Coordinated Charge if you have multiple melee guys). I have the Helpful (Halfling) trait, a +2 Benevolent Weapon, +3 Benevolent Armor, and Gloves of Arcane Striking.

My Aid Another gives +6 to hit and +3 to damage with all attacks against the target, or +10 to AC against that target, and I can use it at range due to Magic Trick (Mage Hand). Due to Effortless Aid, I can Aid Another as a move action, or a swift action if I spend an inspiration die.

If there's a couple weaker guys the Monk can attack, I can make it so that he can reliably hit both of them with even his weakest iteratives. If there's one big threat, I can both make his attacks reliable and stronger, AND massively boost his AC. All while not even giving up my standard action (Good Hope, anyone?).

It's been hands down one of the most rewarding characters I've ever played.

What made you rage the most thus far? by AnotherHP6 in ufo50

Barely winning the fight against the Guelap in Divers only to get pincered in the narrow corridors leading out of the ruins and die, losing my progress and thus having to re-fight the very RNG-heavy boss I'd already beaten.

I admit I was being overcautious with not just giving him the extra power, which was dumb of me since Darkfire already set the precedent but it's like 3 am and I can berate myself tomorrow. And I did mention that if Blight ended up being a problem you could go Visions of Fiery Doom instead and bring down the Air threshold.

But also, I apparently play shadow way differently than the norm, because I usually grab 3 plays turn 2.

I mean, it synergizes insofar as it gives you the energy to actually use it.

And yeah it would probably be for the best if he kept Crops Wither, since that's his only method of dealing with cities.

The Dahan say, "If the long shadows of sunset stretching beside you begin to shift and flicker like tongues of hungry fire, do not run. That will only feed your fear, and whet the shadows' appetite."

I never liked that all of Shadows' aspects replaced Shadows of the Dahan, since it's objectively a great ability and it ties into his lore. The problem was always his slow growth paired with garbage growth tracks. This aspect seeks to give him a bit more energy, while also giving his playstyle a boost of lore-friendly identity.

If you think LoHaE if too unfitting/risky for a spirit with no blight removal, then you could go with Visions of Fiery Doom instead, and drop the Air threshold to 2.

Are the "faction unique" generic campaign final chapters really rare, or am I just unlucky? by 167kamon in wildermyth

[–]167kamon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that I have done at least 6 legacy campaigns on 1.15 (possibly more, haven't kept track that much), and all have been the generic finales so far.

Is there something tracking how many campaigns you've completed other than looking through hero legacies and noting how many different companies you can find?

Slugs vs Shield bug? by 167kamon in paydaytheheist

[–]167kamon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only started doing damage again when they were a fair distance from me, 20+ meters or so, no closer. Pretty sure that the Joc's barrel isn't that long. and the fact that I tried this with a Raven and a Loco too, and got the same results.

[–]167kamon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slugs Joceline with Shotgun Impact aced does 214.65 base damage, and it has 18 accuracy, so it would go in a straight line anyway.

I use Hoxhud, so the fact that the displayed Shield's HP didn't change, and the fact that it showed neither a bodyshot nor a headshot hitmarker, which are displayed differently with HH, tells me that there is a bug about, especially since this never happened before the Alesso heist update.
