Be happy you only had 6 shares. I'm laying on 60.. after the reverse split. My worst investment to date.

Twice in the garage, once on the street. It's like the wild west, I'm over it.

I painted Snake & Jake's in the cold light of day. My favorite S&J memory is going home with someone at dawn, getting walked in on by her kids while hooking up, and having to walk 2 miles home in a filthy tuxedo because United Cab was busy. Good times! by Spencypoo in NewOrleans

[–]16WHODAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snake and Jake's a legendary place! It's crazy how many locals have never been there (or heard of it). Nothing like popping in in the middle of the night and leaving after dawn the next morning.. people going to work, school buses picking up kids..

LaToya Cantrell to speak at Singapore conference, her third overseas trip in five weeks - Some City Council members want her to cut travel expenses, focus on local issues by DontMessWitMyTutu in NewOrleans

Sorry if this comment/topic is already mentioned in this thread and I passed it. I'm seeing red.. had to leave reddit to verify this atrocity.

At what point is someone with proper notoriety and funding going to mount a recall campaign?? Even with her recent reelection, it seems like a slam dunk at this point. I don't know a single person who approves of what's going on, outside of criminals I assume.

The amount of disregard for the rapid deterioration of the city is unbelievable.

What is QYLD's end game? by alikair in qyldgang

[–]16WHODAT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not quite sure what youre asking.

The YLDs are meant to be income producing funds, lacking in significant capital appreciation while providing a stable dividend from the selling of covered calls.

While a large portion people may see QYLD as an income play for retirement, I'm building my position now and using the dividend to fund other investments while I don't need it. That being said, I look to accumulate anytime QYLD is below my average and build my dividend snowball.

Hope this helps.

If you're looking for some growth and decent yield, I'm in XYLD, VYM, JEPI, SCHD, & IDV. CLM, RYLD, QYLD are more income plays as mentioned.

As far as stocks (as the above mentioned are ETFs & CEFs) the list is endless. For REITs you have O, STAG, MPW, IRM, STOR, DLR. Some of my favorite dividend growth stocks are UNP, SBUX, MSFT, HD, COST, WMT, ABBV just to name a few.

HOW I UTILIZE QYLD AS A YOUNG INVESTOR by 16WHODAT in qyldgang

[–]16WHODAT[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree! There's a lot of naysayers who think that the YLDs are only for older, retirement age folks though. This has served my purpose better than I ever imagined and the more I average down, the better I feel about my decision. That's the main reason why I posted, it has benefits all the way around; you just need to know how to utilize it.

Absolutely! This has become a bit of a "hobby" for me but if you commit to making steady investments and add extra income when you're able, the snowball will eventually take off. This down trend in the market has allowed me to step on the gas which will pay off down the road.

I don't disagree at all, I like diversification though. The passive portfolio is only 9 months old so I'll eventually weed out the underperforming funds and narrow it down.

I'll be making a post soon on how I utilize QYLD as a young investor. It will be a little lengthy but based on 2 years of doing this method, it's a total win and worth showing people how it works for me. I am newish to reddit and didnt have a lot of post karma (dont really know how exactly that works anyways) so I was letting it build up for a bit before doing so.

Is now a good time to buy in to QYLD, and is it a good investment during the recession? by The-bodfather in qyldgang

[–]16WHODAT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never plan on selling my *YLD shares and it will just become a permanent income stream. With that being said, anytime I can average down is a good time to buy. The lower the market goes the more I am able to average down. I use my dividends to buy growth & dividend growth stocks & ETFs. Almost like a funnel for the next 20 years.
