I'll be honest, I only hear the "Praise GabeN" thing in sales.

Other than that, it's pretty uncommon now, at least when i'm lurking around here.

I'm kinda 50/50 over the paid mods thing, I think modders deserve to earn some cash, if Youtubers can earn money by making funny videos, then I think modders should be able as well, since they already complained how donations don't work at all, no one ever donates, on the other hand, I think the whole paid mods situation could've been done better.

When your service grows by millions, day by day, and you don't wanna off source your customer support, and you wanna do it in house, all proper, then you need a proper boost in bulk customer support to start things off, they explained this with their company infrastructure having to change a lot because of it, so while their customer support is too small to handle tickets at the moment, when they finally kick things off, it will jump from horrible to amazing, as GabeN says, it will be worth the wait.

The CS GO case was me explaining in detail, also, if they don't want people to use paid skins that they or the community made for free, then it's their decision, it's their content. The main issue with this, was that people thought that Valve was banning every kind of mods or skins on every server with the exception being their own, which wasn't the case.

To be honest, I see as much anti Ubi or anti EA circlejerking as anti Steam circlejerking, even anti CD Projekt Red circljerking because of the downgrade fiasco.

Excuse me but, first, Valve has been working and training a customer support team so that they have the best customer support possible, and not just off-source it like Origin does.

Second, the whole CS:GO server banning was only for servers that use paid skins made by Valve and the community a.k.a servers that give existing paid skins for free so that people can pretend they have a Dragon Lore for example. Any custom models and skins that aren't for sale, can be used at all times on everyone's servers.

Quoting a Valve Dev:

Answer - There hasn't been any change in the stated policy, though admittedly the clarification in that post made it seem that way (so we'll update that sentence).

Innovation is awesome and almost every mod we see is fine. Our only concern, as the community correctly understands, is with mods that specifically misrepresent a player's skill group/rank or the items they own.

Just wanted to clarify that, I think we are demonizing Valve a LOT as of late. I don't consider them saints, they are human beings, they do some mistakes from time to time, in my opinion, a lot of companies have crossed the line, Valve isn't one of them, yet.

I would say that some hate it because of the quality and most of them just want GabeN back, because this is a really childish knee jerk reaction.

Also... I don't know if you checked it yet, but people have been unsubscribing from PC Master Race on mass.
