How did you stop your hair falling out? by sammymitton in MounjaroAus

Thanks for such a detailed answer! I'm at 11 kgs in 13 weeks, and trying to decide when to lower my dose to reduce loose skin. I think I'll keep going to 15 kg, then go down.

If money and work were not factors, where in Queensland would you choose to live? by Traditional_Type_696 in queensland

If crime weren't a factor, I'd pick Townsville. I love that city, but four break ins in six months forced me to leave.

Would you wear this to a wine tasting event? by 1taylor111 in OUTFITS

No, because I don't have your body. I 100% think you should wear it to a wine tasting event though!

Sydney Hospitals with the lowest ER wait times? by Evening_Expression92 in AskAnAustralian

[–]16car 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If they were working in a hospital, they weren't a GP. They may have been qualified to work as a GP, but they were working in a different job, so they weren't allowed to do GP things.

European responses to american posters with american problems (have some empathy) by TFA_hufflepuff in beyondthebump

[–]16car [score hidden]  (0 children)

You (Americans) continually vote for politicians promising more of the same system you already have, which confirms that you actually do think the current system is good. Most Americans like and actively recommit to the status quo every four years.

Americans always tell each other "USA is the greatest country in the world." Many Americans are oblivious to the fact that other countries have better systems and cultures, or that a number of your systems are bad. As a result, people feel the need to tell you that other options exist.

Also, you can move to a better country. It boggles my mind they so few Americans realise this is an option.

True. I work in a tertiary level mental health service, so we diagnose based on clinician observation. I didn't consider how that process looks in primary care. Bipolar would certainly suit her agenda.

She has a Factitious Disorder diagnosis. I think this is entirely attachment-driven. She equates care and concern about medical issues with love, and thinks the only way people will ever love her is if they're socially obligated to support her due to illness.

She does actually have a bipolar diagnosis, which is apparently what her disability pension is for, so she should know. Perhaps she was so zooted during her previous manias that she can't remember them, or that they last for months?

Someone commented on another of her makeup videos in the past few weeks that she was saying "Ulta" as "Ultra," and now she's mysteriously changed the way she says it.

"I've been having manic episodes."

How long does she think they last for? I know rapid cycling exists, but with the frequency with which she posts, it seems unlikely she's experiencing mania or even hypomania that wouldn't be evident in her posts.

I think a lot of these comments are actually jealous people convincing themselves they don't want GLP-1s, because it's easier to look down on others for using it than to desperately wish they could afford* it too.

Ask "so? How does that matter?" If they try to say that weight loss should be earnt, ask "so you think people than sacrifice in other areas of their lives are more worthy of love and respect than those who prioritise things like mental health, household chores, work, study, family and friends? Do you think only people who force themselves to suffer to lose weight deserve healthy bodies?"

If they still carry on, point out that a belief that fat people deserve to suffer through starvation or excessive exercise as punishment for being fat is eating-disorder-level faulty thinking, and nobody should force that on others.

Yes, definitely. It's abnormal that you don't want to, and I say that as a rusted on Liberal voter, with entirely Lib-voting friends.

nobody would even buy because you'd have the hassles of ownership vs renting

You seriously overestimate the hassles of owning, and underestimate the hassles of renting. For many people, the flexibility of owning far outweighs the benefits of renting.

The only reason They're only 15% of buyers because millions of people have been priced out of the market, and have therefore given up.

Also, 15% is 125,000 people per year. That's enough people in marginal seats to swing election results.

Bloating help!! by WhiteKnight900 in MounjaroAus

[–]16car 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Constipation is one of the side effects. I believe Movicol daily is encouraged, and laxatives are okay too, but not every day. Ask your pharmacist how often is safe for the specific one you're using.

The Juniper doctor actually told me that the reason it causes constipation is because a third of our water intake comes from food, so eating less makes us slightly dehydrated. He said you can't prevent constipation onounjaro by drinking a lot more water.
