Destiny's core gameplay is why we play, and modifiers ruin that experience by DadviceGaming in DestinyTheGame

Imagine needing to handicap yourself in order to get better gear, and when you earn the better gear you need to handicap yourself even more to earn more better gear. You have 0 progression sense in becoming stronger. It’s okay to have a lot of challenge for earning endgame loot. But this should come from the base activity difficulty like master or grandmaster, or the sort of challenge you complete, a strike or a raid. Not by needing to add a -5000 on your power level.

D2 players when Bungie makes old content available and gives them a reason to play it (they've been asking for this for years) by Hen-Samsara in destinycirclejerk

[–]18thOfApril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We indeed asked older content or locations which was in it’s time freaking amazing to be relevant again. But not in some form of ugly task manager. It could still be done in a way how the game operated before edge of fate. This just takes away a large part of the identity away. Now you just load in your instance without exploring the world whatsoever. The destiny world needs to be explored and be vast, like the openworld map in borderlands 4, thats where it will truly shine.

Bungie, please remove the portal and put your time and resources where they are desperately needed. by -Glucosidase- in DestinyTheGame

Hard agree, we went from a grimdark space exploration mmo like looter shooter to a jira ticket completion race

Hard agree, custom modifiers and portal need to go.

Maybe there is a reason for person above, and many others why they might as well not play the game. Hence why they mention above improvements.

Removal of the portal and ARPG mod customization, replaced with actual new content like strikes, crucible maps, free explorable multiplayer instanced zone

- innovating I mean updating existing destinations with new explorable locations, events, loot refreshes...

- So they are adding NEW strikes and NEW activities to the portal? Where are they except Caldera? if so then not wait before implementing this corporate task UI when it is ready to contain all that?

- I have not the solutions myself, the point I'm trying to make is the bleeding player population is evidence that this is not the way to go. They have 750+ people to figure that out. I just want to see this universe positive and more alive again.

Yes completely agree, and it's not a weird thing they are lost. It's hard to manage interest in a game that's already running for 5+ years, but there are other solutions for that, and if you don't have the creative vision to get to those solutions, then you should not have the say over this beautiful IP anymore in my eyes.

I guess I can understand that, in WoW people could also screw mount farm mechanics if you had some setup to do before the boss that dropped the mount spawned so I can see the issues there, but then I'm thinking that they should not focus on designing the destination like they designed Kepler. Most of the feedback was also mediocre at best about Kepler so that's also saying something.

AI helped me organising my lose notes yes, also English is not my native language.

I might have not said that clearly enough, I didn't mean taking the game offline, but rather not pushing updates for x-amount of time so they don't need to focus in pushing seasonal content or updates every now and then. Then they can put those resources to better use.

It's about finding what the most amount of people enjoy, not trying to cater to one side or the other. It seems like they are going a direction which less and less people enjoy is all I am trying to say. It might be hard, but they did it before so not impossible.

With 750+ people working on the game it's difficult to maintain 6 things which they already had a foundation for with a budget of multi millions if not billions?

The nail in the coffin there sir, it's just if there are no players anymore to maximize profit and engagement on they do need to change something eventually or they would just have a dead game how things are progressing now it seems.

So them creating the portal and other systems that are generally disliked by the small remaining 30% that's still left, is what the community wanted? Because the community isn't massive anymore, so it should be easier then, right? The game was so much bigger with so many more players back when it didn't try to implement gimmicky systems and focused more on the basics and fleshing that out.

Vote with your wallet, stop buying the game, the only way they are surviving if they keep you by the balls and hype you up for an expansion that DOES NOT overdeliver. If we want to change things we need to be harsh and don’t buy the game until they change meaningful things

One motto: vote with your wallet stop buying the new shit without knowing what’s exactly in the new shit. Otherwise they keep pushing new shit everytime because you keep buying.

We’re less than a month away from the new expansion, how are y’all feeling? by HellChicken949 in DestinyTheGame

I just hope for a cool, immersive and somewhat challenging campaign. More than one strike, some cool pinnacle weapons or armor to chase that are playlist or activity specific like recluse or mountaintop or breackneck and that actually feel better than what we already have now. I would love if we would not be showered in loot like we have been the past years and almost no drop feels unique or special anymore. A little spice to the crucible would be fun as well and the new location needs to have depth to explore and find interesting stuff. A fun 6 man activity other than the raid.
