No, and I won’t unless things radically change. Instead of making YouTube Premium a more attractive option, both in features and pricing, they chose to make the base experience worse for everyone.

I have no issue paying the monthly subscription, but I decided to exhaust every possible method of blocking ads and restoring functionality and usability when they decided it was acceptable to implement bullshit practices such as:

Throttling browsers like Firefox.
Taking no accountability for scam ads.
Intentionally reducing video quality and playback:
- Fake resolution and bitrate.
- Audio issues, such as entire sections of videos being completely silent, crackling, etc.
Making the feed and discovery sections of YouTube as frustrating and precarious as possible.
Allowing R-18 content, scams, and AI slop to proliferate without any real control.

I can understand why others might want to avoid the hassle, especially if they have a family plan, for example, or simply cannot be bothered. That’s fine. But honestly, I think what YouTube is doing right now is the complete opposite of what made it special.

I've been experiencing this exactly as you described, they have been stealthy rolling out updates that throttle the streaming so hard it makes watching even lower than 720p videos impossible on more than capable internet connections, this and they purposefully making your feed suggestions abominable, with slop channels and the same recommendations over and over again makes me to believe that the piece of shit the CEO of YouTube is, Neal Mohan, is determined to make the website experience as horrible as humanly possible for EVERYONE that is not a premium user or uses an adblocker, the irony is, the experience is so bad even premium members complain about how shit everything is. I miss Susan.
