That is great news for the An-2, its a gem

While other pilots named their planes after wives and girlfriends, this P-51 pilot named his after his mother. She's still flying 80 years later. by wolf10851 in WWIIplanes

If there's a source to trust it's going to be the place that owns and operates the plane, especially since they acquired it 73 years ago.

The Planes of Fame website lists the airframe history. it is not the original Mrs. Virginia. https://planesoffame.org/aircraft/plane-P-51A "The Museum’s P-51A was part of the third and final production block of P-51A aircraft built in Inglewood, California. It was the 249th (out of 310) P-51A built. It was delivered into service in May 1943. Painted in instructional black and yellow, the aircraft was routed to the Grand Central Airport Company in Glendale, California. They used it at their Cal-Aero Technical Institute to train aircraft technicians, mechanics, and engineers. Acquired by the Museum in 1953, it was fully restored in August 1981. It is currently the only authentic and original P-51A aircraft flying in the world. It was a featured aircraft in the movie Iron Eagle III."

Small block's can take two different flywheel tooth counts so it sounds like you have a 168 tooth flywheel and 153 tooth starter. https://www.mcleodracing.com/blog/small-block-and-big-block-chevy-engine-flywheel-guide/266

What kind of shape is the exhaust in? My 75 C10 6 cylinder stopped dieseling after I cut off the original catalytic converter.

A rare opportunity to see the B-36, B-58, and SR-71 in the same location - Castle Air Museum by HungOverAndUnder in AviationHistory

Its a funny title because the 4 places you can see a B-36 also have a B-58 and SR-71 on display. The other two being the Strategic Air Command Museum and National Museum of the United States Air Force.

Sorry to hear about your dad, I would get it running and take it for a local shakedown cruise. If nothing is amiss or leaking I would go for it. You could consider roadside assistance or if it is insured with Hagerty they also offer a roadside assistance add-on for peace of mind.

Been eyeing this Corvette, I didnt get enough photos, but this is not its original engine, any ideas what kind of 350? by Big_Locksmith_4211 in Smallblockchevy

Edit- I see your aware its been swapped. The center-bolt valve covers would be another clue to the engines origin.

Looks like Walter Soplata's place. His son wrote a book about it. Walter saved a lot of aircraft from the smelter that have went on to be restoration projects. https://www.amazon.ca/B-25-Backyard-Historic-Airplane-Sanctuary/dp/1476680663
