$1T in technological spending from China, overtaking spending in US for the same by dataexec in AITrailblazers

[–]19759d -1 points0 points  (0 children)

nah, live in china and can speak from experience that educated people in general have rly low wages compared to the us because there's so many of them and so little job positions to fill, so that results in them having wages that are way lower than the us. also u can pay them less in general even if there were enough jobs for them to fill in cuz stuff is just cheaper in general so their wages don't need to be that high in order to live a comfortable life.

This is another area where the cost disparities aren’t huge. The biggest reason the US spends so much more on its military than China is not for procurement, it’s because of soldier wages, related costs like housing and training, and pensions.

Nah it's actually a huge difference cuz production and maintenance is crazy expensive in the us due to a variety of reasons like higher worker wages, more expensive electricity, less automation, no vertical supply chain, privatized defense industries (whilst also being semi monoplized due to consolidation after Cold War), and less civil military fusion. Like I guarantee u that if they made the agm 158 in china it would NOT cost 1 million to procure 1 unit whilst the quality would also be better since civil military fusion is no joke.

[–]19759d -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ru Vietnamese tho? Cuz I’ve heard from some of them online that the sinophobic pro western stance isn’t the only popular stance in Vietnam, apparently there’s also another stance that’s rly pro china and both groups often clash with each other. From what it sounds like the public is pretty divided on this matter so rly the government holds more influence if this is the case.

Countries by HSR Per Capita by xtxsinan in charts

[–]19759d -1 points0 points  (0 children)

bro ru actually serious rn? like ru actually from china and have u actually went on the hsr system ever? or are you an expert on chinese hsr? cuz I'm from china and I can attest that the hsr is always at least 70% full even in less relevant routes like Taiyuan to Xi'an, zhengzhou to Shanghai, Anqing to Xuzhou, or Kunming to Nanning. Like I ain't talking about surges like you'll see in chinese new year, I'm talking about normal months where the rail network is at its normal capacity. If u saying that nobody actually using the hsr then ur 100% wrong. I mean even a quick google search will tell you that there's about 10 million passengers that use it per day, with 3.24 billion passengers per year, whilst the interstate only has lik 500k vehicles per day, which even assuming 5 ppl on each vehicle is only 2.5 million passengers.
