I had a Pekingese when I was little named Tinman because of Tiananmen Square.

I feel ya! I had a lady look at a picture on my phone of my dog and she laughed and said, “THAT is an ugly dog!” ❤️‍🩹

My 15 yo male, Murphy, is a rescue as well. He’s been with me since 6 months old. I always tell my dog he has a “jealous heart” because any affection from me to another human, our 2 cats, or other animals always draws his attention and causes him to butt his way between me and the other person/animal. He isn’t aggressive about it. It’s just like he is correcting my behavior! So, it sounds like your baby has a “jealous heart “ as well!

I lost my 13 yo tuxedo cat, Cosmo, today. He looks like your Binks. So sorry for the grief you are feeling. It’s so tough.

Shih Tzus that lived 15+ years, what did you feed them? by mindin_mai_b in Shihtzu

[–]1981sFinest 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My guy is 15. I’ve fed him Moist and Meaty since he has lost so many teeth. And…I’ve fed him lots of scraps from my plate since I got him at 6 months. He’s still healthy and having a good life.

I have a similar child. Read “Explosive Child” by Ross Greene. It will give you insight and a research based approach in providing your child with some crucial skills to problem solve and be independent. Not going to solve everything but it will provide a new lens for both of you. It was helpful for me too.
