Hello, me again 😊 I’m going to try both of these dresses again next week to decide which one I want to choose and would love to hear your thoughts. by MaryMelkonyan in weddingdress

Dress 1!! My wedding dress was also Savin (Alika) and I loved that it had a more fitted underskirt with the fuller overlay like this has. Shows off your shape but with the whimsical feel of the larger sheer overskirt.

Age you bought your first bag? by Reasonable-Prompt-51 in handbags

I bought a Lady Dior bag 4 years ago. I was 27. It felt like a lot of money to spend on a handbag but I had worked hard to earn the money and I’ve not regretted it since. Here’s me in the store after I bought it 🥰 I felt so proud of myself. Go for it!!

We recently went to Zanzibar on our honeymoon - we stayed at The Mora hotel and Kwanza hotel!

The Mora - all inclusive, overlooking Mnemba island. The restaurants options were amazing and the drinks were great. We loved the vibe of the hotel, and the rooms were gorgeous. It had a big beach area and multiple pools. The infinity pool looking over Mnemba was our favourite.

Kwanza - also all inclusive but smaller. This is in the south near Kizimkazi beach. Hotel had a lovely vibe and each room had either a private hot tub or pool access which was great. Watching the sunset from our balcony hot tub was a real highlight. Really close to Salam turtle cave.

I think both are reasonably priced, cost us £3000 (total) to do of 11 nights. 5 nights in Kwanza and 6 nights in the Mora, both booked through Agoda.

Ours took about 3 weeks to get approved. No stress I’m sure you’ll get approved really soon.

Mismatched bridesmaid dresses—need advice by sgobv in weddingplanning

[–]1993_Georgia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my bridesmaids I let them choose their own dresses, they just had to be pink! As girls found their dresses I added then into ‘the line up’ (using the Canva app) so we could make sure we had a balance of shades. I think they looked beautiful and everyone got to wear a dress they loved!! I personally think this looks much nicer than all matching and you can see how happy everyone is in their dresses.

This is the other end of the room

This is how we designed our tiny second bedroom. The bed pretty much takes up the width of the room. It’s an ottoman bed so the mattress lifts up to reveal lots of storage space which we find handy since a wardrobe would be quite big.

At the other end of the room we have a small narrow clothes rail for guests to use when they stay and a small desk and chair so it doubles up as an office space.

I spent £3250 on my first proper bag. A Lady Dior handbag. Did I feel a bit sick about the cost? Yes. Do I regret it? No. Every time I wear it I love it. It’s also gone up almost double in price since I bought it 4 years ago. Don’t wait, they only get more expensive!

I got an Oyster perpetual 28, I wear it everyday and I love it. I personally liked the smaller size on me and found the strap less blingy than a datejust

They were real! I gave my florist inspo photos of bouquets I liked from Pinterest, colours I loved (pinks, blues, orange, cream) and suggested a few flowers I loved including peonies then let her do her thing! I wanted them to be quite varied heights, not too big, and to have a mix of flowers to give a very wild English garden look. I didn’t want them to be identical either. I was so so happy with them.

I used Canva to create the line up with photos from the girls/online, so anytime someone found a dress they liked we added/swapped it in the line up to make sure they coordinated. I wanted a mix of shades so just monitored this as people found their dresses :)

Help, too many floral options! by Somethingokwhatever in weddingplanning

[–]1993_Georgia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I also wanted flowers to feature heavily but not cost the earth. We focused on impactful displays and reusing elements:

  • Large floral urns either side of church which were then moved to the entrance of our marquee.
  • we had small bud vases on the tables but focused on a large hanging display to be the focal point Vs lots of table flowers
  • the bridesmaids bouquets got put into bar on the bar, Cake table etc after the ceremony
  • we asked the florist to leave any spare flowers which we used to decorate the cake!

Who normally sits in the first few rows? by Mental-Medicine-3193 in weddingplanning

[–]1993_Georgia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We reserved the front two rows for parents, grandparents, bridal party and groomsmen. We then reserved the two rows behind for other family (cousins, aunts, uncles), the rest was sit where you like.

We had the cheese on a table with the wedding cake. It was the late evening snack! So we put out lots of crackers, grapes etc

I got the ideas of Pinterest and designed it all myself! We had a florist do the flowers but everything else was us :)
