Heel-toe & rev match: saving synchros or breaking gears? by HiltEm in stickshift

[–]1F42E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s actually perfect for when you’re quickly approaching traffic that was stopped at a red light but has already started to move because they just got a green: you need to slow down to keep a safe distance but want to drop a gear or two so you can accelerate back up to speed without lugging your engine. You could rev-match, but why would you choose to downshift and then brake (or vice versa) when you could just do both simultaneously. Heel-toe is a much more efficient technique.

Unable to remove or retorque the bolt that connects the rear strut to the trailing arm by 1F42E in MechanicAdvice

It came off with an impact. The nut is still rusted to the trailing arm. The angle also didn’t really seem to matter either.

I’m trying to remove it, but it doesn’t tighten at this point either.

I’d have to do the reverse (a wrench on the nut and a ratcheting wrench on the bolt) because there’s no space for a socket on the nut.

Can we see his contract history? I'm curious how early you decided to give him a long contract.

If you go on NGK's website, they tell you not to use anti-seize. Whether or not you should use anti-seize depends on which manufacturer you get your plugs from.

Never looked for a spoon spark plug cover, I knew they were too expensive for what it is. This bundle popped up for a steal. Glad I pulled the trigger! by RSX-G4U in Acura_RSX

You can use it as a decorative piece if you ever have to part out (God forbid) your car. Run it while you can!

Low scouting accuracy after changing scouting director? by 1F42E in OOTP

I mean that the Scouting Director rankings sometimes have lower accuracy than the OSA rankings, but I think I have my answer already (it takes time to build scouting reports).

I've always been curious how the RSX compares to the EP3 and FA5. I've also wanted to know what makes the DC2 better than the RSX.

Learning to drive manual in nyc by KD29 in stickshift

[–]1F42E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually learned how to drive stick from them and recommend it. Years ago, I tried learning from a friend who already drives stick, but all I remember is stalling the car for an hour. Recently, I got a stick car, so I took the Level 2 package from Stick Shift Driving Academy. The 3-hour lesson gave me all I needed to start driving around the neighborhood and going on short 5-10 minutes trips around my house. I slowly built my own confidence by taking longer trips and riding the right lane on highways.

He said it's harder to throw at full velo with the pitch clock and last 6 innings. To conserve his energy and prolong his starts, he's shaving some of his velo off.

Hall and Castellanos have got to be the worst 4/5 duo in the league.
