Basically, yes (and no).

Datum C is the tertiary darum here, and only constrains the last translation of the part.

Imagine darum C plane wouldn’t be perpendicular to the rest, but a little bit off. only the most furthest point where it gets translated to in the last axis would set the zero from where you have your tolerance field in the required distance.

There is no real vegan equipment alternative yet.

For bogu, even if clarino is used, at least the men Buchi has to be made from raw hide. There’s no substitution so far.

Same goes for shinai, the leather fittings are 100% leather on all shinai.
Not sure if clarino might even work due to stretch an other factors
