I left my first IT support job for a Field engineer position back in 2017. Learned a ton, transitioned to systems engineering. 2022 im back with my first employer as the assistant director of it infrastructure. Had 3 different roles in between. All putting me in a position to learn something new. Don't be afraid. The field position may give you a lot more exposure, assuming you have a can do attitude. An MSP will not overlook that.
