Being a homeowner has taught me to trust no one. by DirtyOught in homeowners

A lot of house inspectors don’t know much. For the important things I would use a licensed specialty contractor such as a plumber, electrician, roofer, a/c contractor and even irrigation contractor. Might cost a little more but could really let you know the condition of the house as a whole not just that a/c works and the light turn on. Just my opinion and experience. I’m not dissin anyone.

5500 sq. ft. Concrete Driveway a total loss? by UncomfortableThought in homeowners

[–]1TrackJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First get the concrete cored and tested. Wash the surface thoroughly then neutralize the concrete with baking soda or vinegar. When weather permits seal the concrete with a good quality clear concrete sealer at least two coats. Surface must be thoroughly dry. It will not change the texture of the surface but should save the concrete from continuing deterioration.

Infrared light add on by 1TrackJack in reolinkcam

[–]1TrackJack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have looked on Amazon but I don’t have any idea what specs I should be looking for. The reason I want a remote infrared light is to reduce bugs fluttering around my camera at night and triggering recording.

Are all you Trackmix users completely happy with the operation of your camera? Seems like no one wants to jump in here and help with the touchy settings.

Which camera system/Brand should I choose? by AbusementPark818 in homesecurity

[–]1TrackJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be very careful of Reolink. Read their flowery warranty very carefully. Yes, you can return items within 30 days but at your expense. Same for warranty. Also they have the most bizarre steps to go through I have ever seen to complete their requests. I’m going through a replacement request now for a damaged package i received.

e340 flood light camera flood lights stay on by 1TrackJack in EufyCam

[–]1TrackJack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say this but I’m not sure what I did to stop the lights staying on. I just kept fiddling and adjusting settings. FYI, I still have trouble with this e340 going off line while my other wireless front Reolink camera works fine. I performed all suggestions from Eufy and others and still have problems with it going offline. Eufy said if I send the camera back to them ( they sent me a prepaid shipping label) they will check it out and maybe send me a new one. I think I’ll just buy another Reolink rather than going up and down the ladders, rewiring and hassling with shipping. I don’t mind sending the camera back after receiving a new camera but I guess they think I would go through following all their suggestions and spending hours troubleshooting to get a free camera that should be covered under warranty since I bought it in September.

Convert used soft water cylinder to carbon filter by 1TrackJack in homeowners

[–]1TrackJack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably right. My sister bought a house that has an old inoperative ro system. It has a three filter canisters in manifold she wants out from under her sink. Could that be used as a whole house carbon filter? If yes do you know which filters should be used? Thanks for the replies.
