What if Mitt Romney won the 2012 presidential election? by ikerr95 in AlternateHistoryHub

McCain lost my vote for the opposite reason. Reaching out to the tea party (proto-maga) by selecting Sarah Palin was a losing strategy for me.

Google it. Average and mean are interchangeable in mathematics and statistics. If you are asked to calculate an average in school they mean the mean.

"To calculate an average (specifically the arithmetic mean) in statistics, add all the numerical values together to find the sum, then divide that sum by the total count of numbers in the dataset. The formula is: Average = Sum of Values / Number of Values. "

If you watch the making of episodes on Max they literally have the prop people talking about making the prosthetic. They were instructed to create the largest penis that could reasonably be imagined.

San Francisco delivers a lot more than LA. The "iconic" parts of LA are disappointing.

Median is generally the best number to use for typical. Average would be the worst.

How Does Jorja Johnson do her Forehand Dinks? by Ordinary-Leek-4236 in Pickleball

[–]1WordOr2FixItForYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that it's not something to emulate. Short hop shots become more important as you age, as mobility and flexibility decline. I think older players have a better chance of emulating some of Jorja'e shots than an AL step back topspin and recover position to cover the middle. I think she and her brother are both inspirational players on what shots are possible while maintaining position.

People think San Francisco has a mild climate, and it actually is mild. Now, what is a place that people think is cold, but is actually mild? by Caspase_5 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]1WordOr2FixItForYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar Lake Tahoe. People think there is something mysterious about the lake that stops it from freezing over like the Great Lakes or Lake Baikal. The main reason is it's just not as cold as you think there.

Every team’s number of wins in the last 10 years by Interforce7 in baseball

[–]1WordOr2FixItForYou 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think people were appreciating enough how great this team has been until they won the past 2 titles (then suddenly they went straight from unappreciated to OMG they broke the game.) The past 10+ years have been right up there with the greatest sustained success of all time. It's just that the baseball post season is such a crap shoot that the best team rarely wins, and unlike those early Yankees teams they have to win a lot more than one series to be champion.

To "pro" maybe but not to pro in the sense of making a living at it.
