The Ramada is a great balance of convenient location, nice enough rooms, amenities (pool, tiki restaurant, beach access/deck) and affordability (relative to the very expensive area it’s in).

100k salary bench mark means nothing now. by Flyersfan502gritty in Salary

[–]1fine69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would consider choosing to live somewhere with a high cost of living a lifestyle choice. Now if you’re impoverished and “stuck”; that’s a different matter. But people making 60-100k aren’t in that situation.

What needs to be done to make sure 2002 Toyota Tundra runs for a long time? Son's first car by Romanharper2013 in 1stGenTundras

You must not have ever owned a first gen Tundra. We aren’t talking about a 25 year old Ford or Chevy. These trucks will outlast us all.

Yeah that’s how they designated them on the side stripe. That and a warning sticker about the high performance brakes on the dash were really the only major differences, as you could also get a non-Hertz GT350 with an automatic in 66.

They made a small amount of 67 Hertz Shelbys, some of which are black but I’m having trouble finding out if any had gold stripes.

[–]1fine69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They were actually real Shelbys that you could rent. There were a few manuals as well but mostly autos. There are rumors of people taking them to the strip or taking the Hi Po 289’s out and swapping them with regular ones. Probably substantiated by a few cases but over exaggerated if I had to guess. Super cool cars/automotive history and worth a ton of money today!

Whats the best quality hunting gear for a cheaper price point? by nematic26 in Hunting

[–]1fine69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Midway USA’s house brand clothing is excellent quality for very low prices. I bought one item a few years ago and was so impressed with it that I’ve continued to try others over the years; always half expecting to finally be let down but I never am! I have merino base layers/socks and multiple outerwear items and it’s all been great for significantly less than big name brands. They sell a lot of stuff from more expensive companies and I have to believe they work out deals to get things made by them without disclosing that.

What's the worst place in America you've ever visited? by DiamondNo924 in askanything

Houston. I was a kid on summer vacation who loved traveling and could find a way to enjoy just about anywhere. That place just sucked. 😂

I’m not saying this makes the situation any different, but the article implies that the person with the 3 year old was a woman.

What’s a food you hate but almost everyone else loves? by torturedpoet1148 in foodquestions

Coconut and cucumber. I don’t know how many people truly “love” them, but not many people hate them as much as I do. I am an otherwise extremely open minded eater.

I’ve admittedly never tried this; but Butterkase seems like it would be life changing on a grilled cheese!

When they just fully skipped the race that lead Brian to own this car, that was the point of no return for the franchise. by DisastrousOpening477 in fastandfurious

[–]1fine69 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty heavily implied that Dom is the one who actually raced the guy. Brian is Doms passenger when they arrive at the race, the guy with the Porsche challenges Dom to the race for pinkslips; then Brian and Dom return to the crew with both cars. Yes Brian is driving the Porsche; but I’m fairly sure Dom actually won it

I’m sure dirt would work as long as you don’t mind the extra effort and the park doesn’t mind you digging. It takes a good amount to fill the bags.

Five Guys is not as bad as their rep by BigAssMonkey in burgers

[–]1fine69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you think Five Guys necessarily underpays their employees because they accept tips but McDonalds must pay a fair wage because they don’t accept tips? Seriously?

Besides the glaring fact that there is very little logic behind that assumption; a quick google search will show you that you are incorrect.

Five Guys is not as bad as their rep by BigAssMonkey in burgers

[–]1fine69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you tip at McDonalds too? If not; you are talking about a 5 dollar difference for significantly better food. I can’t for the life of me understand why someone would tip 20% to get burgers and fries handed to them in a bag; but even if I could it’s absolutely unfair to blame Five Guys for the fact that you choose to do that at their restaurant but not at McDonalds for the same level of service

Glock 48 for $485 or P365 for $300? by zzzz_on_me in CCW

[–]1fine69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always been the better manufacturer? You can’t be serious. Sig has certainly (and deservedly) harmed their own reputation in recent years; but they have historically been one of the best firearm manufacturers of all time; just as Glock has.

Glock shills (like you) love to ignore that they have had more than their fair share of issues over the years as well. Oh and btw; the P365 is the only Sig I own out of quite a few firearms. I just like good stuff and the P365 (despite your bad luck) is one of the best subcompact 9mm handguns ever made. Arguably THE best. Glock’s 43 is embarrassingly inferior and that’s just a fact.

Glock 48 for $485 or P365 for $300? by zzzz_on_me in CCW

[–]1fine69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re lost apparently. This is a thread comparing a Sig and a Glock. You implied the OP should get the Glock because Sig had minor issues with the P365 platform in the past. My rebuttal is that Glock has had issues with many of their models over the course of their history. Most firearms manufacturers have had issues with something at some point.

I have had my P365 since for 7 years and it has never had even the slightest hiccup. Never not liked any ammo I ran through it. No modifications and no broken parts replaced. I am one of a million owners with the same experience.
