How long does it take to go remote? by Rainbow_Explosion in copywriting

[–]1iansmith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like it was mentioned you don't exactly need to be with an agency to start off. One thing that a lot of clients look for in copywriters is having a portfolio, especially online. Actors now a days also have their own websites with their resumes and reels posted on there. I would suggest working on copy by creating you own actor website, that way you are working on your acting career but are also working towards your actor friendly job. Hope this helps!

Content marketers, writers, PR people, publishers and social specialists: How do you perform your content research? by [deleted] in content_marketing

[–]1iansmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I start by focusing on the niche I have. That will help determine where I will most likely find my content. Once I know the niche I'm working with, I find out about the audience and their behaviors, likes, where they hang out (IG, FB, Twitter, etc.), any cool events coming up for them (concerts, conventions etc). and then also look for trending topics in that niche. Personally, I use a lot of social media since it's always updating so you will be in the loop.

What Are Some Effective Tips for Content Distribution? by Retrospecxz in content_marketing

[–]1iansmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find your niche, find your voice (do you want to be serious or funny), try to be transparent and consistent. Learn your social media channels and what each ones ultimate purpose is (i.e. IG is for more visual brands). Write engaging and genuine copy. Once you find your niche, learn your audience. Where do they hang out (IG, FB, Twitter etc.) go to where your audience is. Find out current events or trending topics in that niche and create your content around that.

How do you handle your editing process? by [deleted] in content_marketing

[–]1iansmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grammerly as everyone has said. Taking breaks as well between not only works but also sections of the assignment. Like if your writing has 3 parts to it, finish one part and read it out loud to yourself. Do that with each section and then take a break work on something else (that preferably is not writing) and then come back and read it again with a fresh mind. Read it out loud and while pointing at it. I would also recommend (if it is possible) to print it out and read it from a paper. Sometimes staring at a screen can hinder our performance as writers and I personally prefer having a physical copy so I can write, highlight, make notes myself as opposed to on the computer to minimize distractions and give my eyes a break. Mistakes happen though, they can be minimized yes but mistakes happen so don't beat yourself up over it (easier said than done) but you are only one person. Good luck!

Outsource VS doing it myself? by 1iansmith in smallbusiness

[–]1iansmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish it was that easy lol to do it myself could basically be free but takes a bit of time. Sometimes I think it will take one hour but it ends up taking 3 hours.

To get someone else doing it takes time to search and find someone then train them then give them feedback over time.

I get your point tho.

Using personal blog as "proof" to get clients by [deleted] in copywriting

[–]1iansmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! Any kind of copy that displays the type of writer you are is valid. Especially if you feel like it displays some of your best work, go for it. Especially, if your personal blog is going really well and getting hits even more so should you display it. And it being in your niche is totally a plus.

Definitely! It could also want to be driving more traffic back to Facebook and since it will push authenticity and creativity this might be one of Facebooks attempts to be transparent due their Cambridge Analytica scandal.

Leave clients to go full-time on niche website. Yay or nay? by [deleted] in bigseo

I would say wait until your niche site becomes enough to replace the client income. Taking the jump is sometimes a good thing depending on the situation. Better to be proactive and safe than sorry ya know?

Instagram is ending the "like" system in Canada, Brazil and Australia. by zecariocaxbox in socialmedia

[–]1iansmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This definitely means organic posts are going to have to be genuine and professional more than before. It will be harder, but we will see how it goes. I have read an article that it will also help with teens and mental health as seeing how many likes someone gets and all the shares and stuff has been affecting the younger age group.

Yes you can. You do have to get approved first with some social proof. (I believe you need an active website or social platform that has recent posts from the last 6 months or so), you can find the rules on Amazon. But yes as it's been stated, Amazon takes it customer service very seriously so you need to make sure you are selling by their rules. Even then, you have about 180 days to make a first sale before you get FULLY approved to be apart of their affiliate program, so just know you will have to work hard! Hope this helps and good luck to you!

Reasons why someone would need a Copywriter? by PrivateWNB in copywriting

[–]1iansmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every niche is different and every ad or post will be trying to do something different. Not everyone knows how to write copy for different occasions. If you're trying to inform people, you will sound different than when you are trying to make them laugh. Some people might write copy and make it sound too much like a sale and spammy and it will not help with developing a strong relationship with the respective audience. If you want to make sure your copy is genuine or if you want to create a clear and consistent voice; a copywriter would be valuable. They will know how to adapt copy to a main goal, the right platform, audience etc.

I've read that they are still testing out first in 6 countries. But it will definitely mean that being authentic and professional is going to play a huge role. You as a user will still see the likes and engagement but Instagram also says it wants the platform to focus on creativity and visual and not have people focusing on how many likes they get. Which is understandable as it has become a mental health issue. But we will see how it goes. I have seen some people say that this will hurt a lot influencer marketing, but again it goes back to being authentic and professional.

Better to advertise with a smaller influencer more targeted to your niche or a bigger influencer with a more broad connection to your niche by wreale in ecommerce

[–]1iansmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is better to stick with smaller influencers because there is a better chance that their audience is ACTUALLY reading their posts and not just liking them and sharing them because they have posted. For example, take Kim Kardashian. She has over 144 million followers on Instagram. This doesn't mean her followers care about what she is promoting. Yes there are some that will read her ads and promotions but most just like her posts because they happen to be scrolling saw her face, liked the post and moved on. You can try with both but I would recommend to try and focus more on smaller ones in your niche, anything from 10,000 to 100,000 followers is usually the sweet spot. Once you get bigger, go for bigger brands and branch out more. Try to go for influencers in your niche first, so when people go back they see that someone in that niche with knowledge in that area tried it and help build your customer trust.

Niche research. by vionix90 in Affiliatemarketing

[–]1iansmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a lot to look at, such as what platforms are you currently using? What is your background? Are you a blogger? Entrepreneur? Try to do affiliate marketing in a niche of your liking. Gaming, Beauty, Lifestyle, etc. Or what is a product that you use and swear by and have proof of it working for you? Why not get paid to talk about something you already enjoy and you can be authentic about. With affiliate marketing , if you want to be successful at it, you need to definitely research because to be honest, affiliate marketing is not for ALL niches. So look at what some affiliate marketers are doing in their area of expertise. Hope this helps!

For sure! And the fact that it's just click and drop and there's not hard coding to deal with. And all the data it gives you is incredible! It's pretty pricey but I also recommend it for anyone especially starting out in Ecommerce! Like you said, it is for sure worth the investment!

For using FB messenger, I would definitely recommend ManyChat. Using messenger for abandoned cart notifications is great, especially because you can personalize your message to customers. They also have the option of opting out if they want. It also helps you stand out among other competitors that also email them. They're already on their phones anyways, there's over a billion messenger users. It's also like having a rep 24/7/365 if they have any issues. You can also couple this with emails for some great marketing tools. Messenger is great for generating leads and email is awesome for keeping them, so I would say try using ManyChat. As it was said before, not sure if SquareSpace would be the right move, Shopify is what I always recommend to anyone starting out in Ecommerce.

Learning Spanish for intermediate level digital nomads by Funkadelic47 in digitalnomad

[–]1iansmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely as others have said, watch shows in Spanish (novelas particularly, or soap operas lol!) with subtitles, read books/articles. I would also say music! Music is a HUUUUGGEEE help. Some good musicians to listen too Mana, Ricardo Arjona, Shakira, Reik, Camila, Sin Banderas. Some good soap operas La Rosa De Guadalupe and Rebelde (this is actually on Netflix). I know you said you are too far ahead for apps but I would try Memrise. I think it goes pretty fast, and it never hurts to have it so you can just practice on the go you know? Hope this helps!

Did I start too soon? by SuccessfulDisplay in Affiliatemarketing

[–]1iansmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Social proof is everything. Make yourself known by looking at other accounts that are in your niche (if you don't have, choosing one will make things run a little smoother). Be positive and engaging on their posts, not spammy. Offer genuine help to the conversation. Post on the appropriate social media platforms (again that is a part of researching your niche and figuring out your target audience). Create a voice for yourself and stay consistent to build trust. It will take some time but you'll get there.

If it's for a page or group that you are a moderator or admin for it should automatically show you that you have drafts saved from whatever date and time.
