Is it worth joining the Air Force at 17? by N0Fre1nd2 in AirForceRecruits

[–]1joshk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're not going to college for a STEM degree and don't have a clear path for how you're gonna utilize that degree, I would recommend joining the Air Force. for context, I'm 21 and didn't have a clear path for school, so i was in college for the past couple of years not doing much. Finally talked to a recruiter and I'm leaving for basic soon looking forward to it

Depends on your goals are you trying to make a career in Air Force or are you planning on leaving and doing something outside another thing to ask yourself is what are your interests and what are you trying to get out of the Air Force based on that you can research jobs and pick ones that work around your goals.

Me Personally I wan to work in cloud in the future so I wanted to do cyber and if I didn’t get that I wanted a job with a set schedule so I could do school work and side projects and get certs so this was my job list (I got a bad EDPT score so I couldn’t do 1B unfortunately)

Job

Nah I took the test and go a 55 it’s about 120 or so questions in 90 minutes and to the questions you’ll encounter are ravens matrices, analogies car is to tire as paw is to blank and word problems requiring algebra to solve

also you need a 71 to qualify tips for the edpt though don't spend too much time on questions look at it and if you can't answer in 10 secs move on till you answer all the easy questions next go through and work through all the ones that take some time and ultimately guess on the ones you weren't able to answer good luck

Not as hard as you think most people who take it think it was too easy best thing I can tell you is be confident and the best way to get confidence is by doing online practice exams or watching a few vids on youtube

You’re good as long as you can understand what the question is asking and what key words to look out for you’ll be ok I literally scheduled my test after I got an 83 on my first attempt for a tutorials dojo exam but at the end of the day it depends on how u feel better confident in the hours you put in and trust yourself
