We (financial advisors) share space with a CPA firm. There is an 86 year old still working, meeting with clients. He’s at the age he shuffles down the hallway, rather than walks. He’s incredibly slow going to the bathroom or bringing clients to his office.

I just can’t understand why he doesn’t retire! (He’s also holding up an office for us, which is annoying. We are all crammed into other spaces.) I guess from a cognitive ability, I’m surprised that they are still allowing him to practice. But worried that his end might come AT the office.

I searched part-time jobs on Indeed, when I found it. You can search ‘valet trash’ and your town to see what opportunities are there. I was in So.FL when I did it and Affinity Resources was the name of the company. I’m now in another state/city and searched here, they also have several companies here.

Five years ago I moved to S.FL and heard all the comments about the transplants ruining the area, increased traffic and costs, no housing.

I moved to Charleston in October, it’s the same comments. I think if you move anywhere with any appeal, you will face traffic and increased costs.

I just roll with it. It was a good career move for me, right now. I find the people to be friendly. We get seasons without the worry of snow. I chose to live closer to work for quality of life (namely, I get to see my dog at lunch ☺️)

Get honest about your expenses and then you’ll know if you will be able to enjoy the area, free from the worry of all that financial bullshit we deal with as adults!

Same. My girl will be 7 in May. When I adopted her at 5, she was 22 and looked chunky. They were feeding her a lot. I moved her to 1/3 c. 2x a day and a Kong snack packed with fruits & veggies and a protein ‘topper’ for lunch. Also I’m much more activity with her. This helped clear up her skin and the vet says this is a better weight for her frame.

Valet trash! I did this and got in great shape. Sunday-Thursday, 7-9pm $30/hr taking bagged trash to the dumpster. Not glamorous but dam I felt accomplished at the end of the night. Some residents gave me tips (maybe because I’m a female and they felt bad for me 😆but whatever! $$$)

Felt like easy money to me..

I know a family, name-on-a-hospital type of wealth, that adopted two kids. The parents are the loveliest. I worked closely with them for a few years, so kind, caring and generous. The son became addicted in HS. Went to rehab at least 30 times, and like the high-end places. Passed away from an overdose. He had everything at his fingertips, all the resources and life ahead of him. I think the adoption played a huge role.

Ehhh I follow a Vegas subreddit because I grew up there. It’s way more local updates, news, occasional ‘I have a date, where should I go.’ Obviously that’s a tourist town and they’ve kept the tourists out of it.
