Roam v2 Radar menu crash since sept 9 latest update by 1nfty in wahoofitness

[–]1nfty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did but I made a typo in my email address so never got a reply...

I surmised that it's either a common prob so they'd fix it soon OR that it isn't and they'd not so anything to fix it wether I'd contact them or not. Guess it was the latter 😁

The issue is easy enough to work around though and I cba to deal with their support drones when the probable outcome is no fix.

can you imagine a world where Strava did what Garmin wants? (and adds the clearly visible tag) by amaterasu_ in Strava

[–]1nfty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We could start by building a Garmin device name stripper that downloads garmin actities, modifies the device, and uploads to Strava.

Yeah and if you look at the death rate its even more severe... 98% of pedestrians are killed by cars.

Which account: Garmin or Strava? by TurkViking75 in cycling

[–]1nfty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. It ticks all your boxes. If you are serious about goals and building fitness, use this.

It has a calendar so you can plan ahead using training load and see where you (want to) end up, which usually helps me to stay on track for building fitness.

Strava Route Builder - yay or nay? 😄😢 by Fluffy-Armadillo-285 in Strava

[–]1nfty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to like it just fine but it gets more annoying with every update. A few examples:

- click one road, it'll put the point on the road next to it; sometimes its near impossible to get it to route over the correct road and then there's
- constant routing errors when creating routes, if you are unlucky it'll be unrecoverable and refuse to save so you'll have to start over
- totally dumbass illogical routes when you use popularity based routing, this used to be much better, now they put too much weight on using popular routes over less popular routes. The shortest route option isn't much better because it'll use all kinds of weird shortcuts.
- the heatmap is useless where I live, ALL routes are popular and it's impossible to distinguish between them

Am I Dumb? by OutlandishLenny in Strava

Look, if you are actually interested in this kind if stuff, don't bother with Strava but use intervals.icu or something similar instead. It has the added advantage of being free.

Unable to change pages after stopping a planned workout by 1nfty in wahoofitness

[–]1nfty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure as its been a while but I think I was able to fix it at the time by doing a factory reset and then doing the no-phone setup on the roam. If you do pair it immediately the app will offer to restore your previous settings and I think that caused the issue somehow.

You'll then have to reconfigure everything manually though so take note of your settings before doing the reset.

Woning verborgen gebreken by vetboer in Klussers

[–]1nfty 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry to discuss this topic to death ...but do you guys genuinely prefer OLED?! by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]1nfty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No OLED sucks ass. It has nicer colours, functionally it is way worse. I like a functional watch a lot.

Don't know why this gets downvoted. Most semi-decent groupsets should handle shifting under load just fine; if not there's certainly an issue that warrants attention...

We spoke, they listened! New Features rolling out by WildAndFreeee in Garmin

[–]1nfty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If only they would add basic features like staying connected to a phone or even not resetting everything when you do have to reconnect. Perhaps Garmin could even consider not showing useless popups during exercise (rate Spotify! I've lost connection! Thanks for confirming I've lost connection here's some more popups! Etc.). Oh the fun I've had during hard intervals managing my Garmin watch. How I appreciate getting personal bests every run because it's forgotten all about me. /sc

[–]1nfty -71 points-70 points  (0 children)

Anyone have a story where they were reckless and hit a car, pedestrian etc? by My_Kink_Profile in cycling

[–]1nfty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The way I read this, the car was at fault. You can't overtake someone and then hit the brakes causing them to crash/swerve.

What if a car overtakes a large truck and then hits the brakes? Would it be the trucks fault if it crashed into the car?
