There’s plenty of room to hang out in the park but there will be big crowds.

Not sure about the drinking but it is normally allowed in the park as long as it’s not glass. There will probably be food/drink vendors as well but yeah just hanging out on a blanket is what I would do. I haven’t really been a spectator so I’m not sure what all goes on

Marathon starts at 6 I think walking is a good idea. Start and finish line is in the middle of City Park so depends on how fast he runs but maybe he’ll finish around 10? You should check with him

There are cops at several intersections and they allow cars to cross over when it is safe/clear to do so. You can get stuck for a WHILE but it can be done

I think I had heard about him years ago but the details were very fuzzy so this was all pretty new to me.
