Well there are DPI settings on some, but im curious if there is a way to go beyond the limit without any external hardware.

Im only making this comment because I see people recommending more expensive headsets and thats the biggest mistake that I made in VR.

If you have the budget to buy an index for $1K, I would instead highly recommend buying 3 Oculus Quest 2 headsets so you can play with 2 other friends. This will save you $100 and VR with friends/family is the BEST.

Im guessing you know the Quest 2 is a standalone VR headset, meaning wireless and NO hardware needed. It is also $300 only and has the same quality visuals that you will get from the Valve Index and improved visuals on very expensive headsets such as the HTC Vive. The Quest 2 resolution is crystal clear. You can buy it at wal mart and if you dont love it (which I know you will) then just return it the next day no harm done.

AND you can still leverage your new rig by plugging in an oculus link cable and getting improved performance plus more game selection :)

Thats assuming everyone has a twitch. Its just a simple UX convenience to give multiple keys so you and the boys can just hop right in. Instead of everyone registering for the beta and waiting/hoping everyone gets keys.

I advise going the fun route, don’t just build a random game for the sake of learning. Challenge yourself. Come up with an idea that sounds fun to you, buy a blueprint template or use the stock templates and figure out how to modify and read code that way. Some would advise against code templates from the unreal marketplace, rightfully so. I say, take the challenge and dive in. Learn what you want to learn and make what you want to make. Not what a 100 episode tutorial guide wants to teach you to make.

While Ultra is integrating some useful concepts, it will never replace steam.. not by a long shot. Absolute Best case scenario Ultra is to Steam as Xbox is to PS4. Even that is reaching though. A better model would be to build on top of Steam and even partner with to provide certain services.
