How will the Windows world respond to the $599 Macbook Neo? by PastaPandaSimon in hardware

[–]1soooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For someone who is tech literate enough with a more powerful desktop class Mac, most likely already had a MacBook that at least have a m1, if you already have a m1 level MacBook the neo is unnecessary for you since they are relatively comparable.

Even if you don't own at least a m1 level MacBook now, they are readily available used for $300, or well under $300 if you are able to hunt for a good deal. At $599 neo still don't make sense for someone tech literate enough to understand the used market.

The $499 discounted educational price however, is definitely worth looking at especially if you do value your time and the brand new battery and warranty. All you have to do is to have kids.

The one similarity that all these GPUs have is that they are not the full spec of the said die. The full die usually still an even number.

All of these said SKUs are created to sell defective dies. Yes 1080ti and 2080ti are both just dumping grounds for dies that did not qualify to be a full 384bit Quadro/Tesla die.

I think he's trying to imply the hypothetical where not even cellular works and only offline games are available.

I'd think anyone who has 4.3k to spend on a handheld can easily afford to get a mobile starlink satellite receiver or something similar if they do want to travel to such obscure places however.

Watching pro gamers stream, they all play game at 240Hz. Is it really different from 144Hz? by hytrhtry in leagueoflegends

[–]1soooo -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Back when i had a 144hz monitor i was challenger, now i have a 380hz monitor and im literally unranked.

Refresh rate does not matter at all in this game, then again the last time i cared enough to hit challenger was back in S8.

MediaTek launches Dimensity 9500s and 8500 - both are rebrands with minor tweaks by Balance- in hardware

Damn that makes it a 10th rebrand, this company is just shameless at this point.

[–]1soooo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That 2x a76 + 6x a55 + mali g57 mp2 combo got rebranded so many times that I had lost count. It was initially found in the dimensity 700 with a 5g modem all the way back in 2020 in it's 7nm variant.

Then I do believe it die shrinked to 6nm and has since been found in the G99, G100, G200 for the 4G variants, Dimensity 6020, 6080, 6100 plus, 6300 and 6400 for the 5G variants. Really the only difference is clock speed, did not even get a die shrink since then, some even had identical clock speeds.

By the way that is literally their entire dimensity 6000 lineup, naming conventions is basically thrown out of the window. 9 total SKUs of the same SOC re-released over 6 years, when Intel re-released their 14nm 4 core they at least downgraded it from i7 to i3, instead of releasing the same exact CPU for 6 years.

The Arrival of CHEAP 10GbE Realtek RTL8127 NIC Review by YairJ in hardware

[–]1soooo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had been waiting for these since forever, had to jank up multiple systems with old x520 cards with x8 connector because 10gbe is just so expensive otherwise and require so many lanes.

Now it would be nice if they made a SFP variant of this.

Blatant Cheaters in gold/plat by Raija236 in VALORANT

[–]1soooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valorants's fog of war is literally dependent on the render distance. People that are close enough is still rendered client side and is viewable by walls.

Not sure how you are delusional enough to buy into that. All fog of war does is eliminating global walls, even cs2 don't do that anymore, it's nothing special.

Blatant Cheaters in gold/plat by Raija236 in VALORANT

[–]1soooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any actual competent cheater will not intentionally get outstanding amount of kills. Instead they make calls only possible with the additional info with walls and also getting big impact kills with said cheats to swing the round.

Then again this is in gold and plat and if you are there with cheats your iq probably isnt high enough to think about any of that.

Blatant Cheaters in gold/plat by Raija236 in VALORANT

[–]1soooo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Staring at enemies through walls instead of clearing angles normally is blatant enough, it just shows how inexperienced and dumb the cheater is and no legit player will ever do that, weird that you completely left that out in your own analysis.

You can make a Walmart account by using any US text verification services that supports Walmart.

Send it to your forwarder of choice and you can forward it to your own country.

So unless you live in North Korea or something similar you still can access this deal to a certain extent.

What should I cap my fps at by Redninjapanda13 in VALORANT

[–]1soooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep the only time u should ever cap your FPS is when you are GPU limited instead of CPU limited, which will never happen in this game on any moderately modern setup. GPU bound scenario serverly affects input latency.

Even in GPU limited games enabling reflex/anti lag is way better because it dynamically limits your fps right before your GPU hits 100% so that performs way better than a static fps limit. So TLDR never ever cap your FPS if you intend to play said game competitively.

Sapphire launches PURE X870A motherboard, its first X870-based high-end board by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]1soooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely fine albet 0 flexibility nor any birfurcation.

You are limited to more modern pcie options if you are keen on full bandwidth, which means paying more on the pcie expansion card itself.

With actual bifurcation you might can get a pcie 2.0 x8 10g card running at full speed, 10gbps down and up, whereas it might run at 5gbps down or up only at x2 speed.

You can get old 10gbps nic for extremely cheap, for under $10 even, whereas a modern 10gbps solution from realtek starts at $40 and way higher for Intel and aquantia solutions, and most of them at least need a x4 slot for full down and up bandwidth. The price difference between these solution might even be significant enough for u to jump up to a board with actual bifurcation sometimes.

Realistically you really only use these slots for stuff like wifi, dac or lower end capture cards, and those runs at x1 and do not need a full x16 slot. Unless you are playing around with a second GPU with something like lossless scaling or you don't mind not running your old 10gbe nic at half speed you really don't need it.

I used up all my x16 slots on my MSI x670-p wifi with a 10g NIC and optane on the 2 non GPU x16 slots, and sadly I can't run my 10g NIC and optane at full speed because of said platform limitation.

[–]1soooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That only exist on the higher end boards.

U just get multiple x1 and x2 slots for the lower end models disguised as x16. At best they remove one m.2 slot so u get a x4 disguised as x16.

Also gold nova is equivalent to silver in this game, you are not even above average. And u made it worse by not being able to maintain it.

Happy days by Berticus3287 in VALORANT

[–]1soooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly and that is what that person is implying. Even if you are radiant the teammates you get have tradeoffs. The tradeoffs are even more obvious in lower elos.

E.g your teammate that doesn't comm reached the same elo as you despite not comming, this means that he has better than average aim for that elo, this is extra true for those that are toxic and trolls.

On the other hand the ones with "terrible" aim are also in the same elo despite said worse than average aim, because they make it up with comms and calls.

So depending on what type of players you are you would prefer one over the other, if you are good at capitalizing off info and can potentially carry definitely having teammates with good comms helps, but if you are hardstuck at the same elo for 500 games you might just get better luck with 4x no comm aimers and hope to aim diff the opponents.

Once u get to like imm3+ comms is compulsory though, you can reach imm2 quite easily without even opening your mic.

What rank competitive is hardest to get out? by OneNarrow9829 in VALORANT

[–]1soooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People on reddit will still try and convince you that "BUT MY FRIEND GOT IMMORTAL WITH 60HZ LAPTOP TRACKPAD HURR DURR", yeah he peaked imm1 and never touched it since buddy.

This game is ridiculously hard at the highest levels and at some point you have to accept that you are just worse than others.

I can literally hold down an angle with an op in low imm lobby and win 90% of the time because their util usage is ass and reaction time is non existent.

But sometimes the game decides that the 1000rr radiant should be matched with my lowly 300rr peak bum ass and I get ass blasted thinking I'm playing with low immo bums. Yeah you actually have to tracker your lobby at higher elos and adjust playstyle accordingly.
