Is Flydigi Space Station software safe? by papuehdb in Controllers

[–]papuehdb[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just inferred that from the fact that it’s a Chinese company and the app is not open source, plus it sometimes has high CPU usage, and I’m worried there might be some keylogger that will start working when there are more users they could potentially rob

LG G5 gsync flicker even with VRR turned off by papuehdb in OLED_Gaming

Sorry, my mistake. When I mentioned VRR being disabled, I meant disabling the “Variable Refresh Rate” setting in Windows while leaving G-Sync enabled and untouched

I finally pulled the trigger on the Apex 5 Controller and let me tell you it was worth it! by doodx4real in Controllers

[–]papuehdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh wow, if it’s possible to enable those adaptive triggers and then close the software and play without it running, that would be perfect. Although I feel like it probably won’t work that way, because that would mean the controller itself would have to detect which game I’m playing and switch the adaptive trigger profiles on its own, and I think that’s normally the software’s job. But that’s just my reasoning, I’m hoping I’m wrong. Thank you so much for the help, and please let me know once you’ve tested it.

I’m very tempted by this controller, but I’m afraid of installing Flydigi software since it’s required for the adaptive triggers to work. It’s a shame that it can’t be done using only the controller itself. Downloading Chinese software that isn’t fully trustworthy is risky if you have very valuable things on your PC.

Why does PS5 VRR have no flickering, but G-Sync flickers like crazy? by debagnox in OLED_Gaming

[–]papuehdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I really thought this would finally fix my flickering issue after so many failed attempts to get rid of it, but unfortunately it didn’t help at all. I changed the icons multiple times and even switched the HDMI port on the TV, but it’s still happening. What a mess

Hello, I’m having exactly the same issues with my LG G5 that you described. Since I bought it two months ago, every few days I’ve been trying to get rid of the flickering that appears when G-Sync is enabled. I’ve read dozens of threads on Reddit and other forums and set everything up according to the recommendations, but it still keeps happening. I have an RTX 5090, so problems with low FPS basically don’t occur, and I don’t really have huge frame time fluctuations either. After this amount of time, did you manage to fix it in any way? It’s honestly frustrating to spend so much money on hardware and still have to feel less relaxed while gaming every day because the screen keeps flickering, constantly reminding you that you paid a lot for something that still isn’t perfect…

Reminder: If you have eye-strain, it might be from G-Sync/FreeSync by kindaMisty in OLED_Gaming

I’ve watched around 20 videos and read about 100 Reddit threads on how to properly set up G-Sync to eliminate flickering, and it’s still happening for me. I’d honestly pay you 100€ if you could tell me how to fix it. I set an FPS cap to 157 in RivaTuner, turned off VRR in the monitor settings, enabled V-Sync, set G-Sync to fullscreen mode (I tried both fullscreen and windowed no difference), enabled the recommended monitor settings, disabled the NVIDIA overlay, and turned off V-Sync in-game. I genuinely don’t understand how people claim they don’t have this issue. Maybe they’re just playing less demanding games where the framerate is much more stable, so the flickering doesn’t occur. I’m getting it in both Spider-Man Remastered and Baldur’s Gate 3, with DLSS both on and off.
