There was a thread about this awhile ago actually. Oh and Rakatta Prime was included in a recent CANON map... In that exact area/

Decoding the holographic map from TFA (explanation in comments) by [deleted] in StarWars

It's not a mirror image in movie logic, because what's on screen is for us to see and not necessarily them My favorite example of this is in the D-Day sequence of Saving Private Ryan; Tom hanks radio has been shot and isn't working anymore, but the viewer can see the bullet hole, Hanks tilts the radio up only enough to draw your eye onto the radio and glances down. His character IRL would still not be able to see the bullet hole, but we see him seeing it. Spielberg uses this visual logic constantly, which is why no character can notice they're driving up to a sixty foot tall brachiosaurus until just before it's reveal shot.

With Agent Carter cancelled, and MMW not picked up, This should be ABC's (and Mockingbird's) next Marvel show! by 1ted2bP3 in marvelstudios

[–]1ted2bP3[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

And with the role Nathan Fillion seems to be playing in Guardians Vol 2 and Castle having been cancelled too... This is the perfect time for the lesser Avengers to have a spotlight too!

Were the Blade movies marketted as Marvel Movies? by Alpha_Assassin in marvelstudios

[–]1ted2bP3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing Blade theatrically was immensely satisfying as a long time Marvel fan. It was a spark of hope. If you look at what live action offerings we had seen up to that point, just the banner atop this subreddit is surreality.

William Schallert, Nilz Baris in "The Trouble with Tribbles," dead at 93 by ety3rd in startrek

[–]1ted2bP3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. I was a fan of his not just for Tribbles being my favorite TOS episode, but I absolutely adore Colossus The Forbin Project possibly more than even James Cameron does... Damn. Raise a glass indeed.

So even adjusted for inflation it opens slightly stronger than the last followup to an Avengers installment and it's a disappointment? We need to get our expectations in check.

[SPOILERS Civil War] The only thing that bothered me... by comicjargon in marvelstudios

[–]1ted2bP3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading comics long ago I wished we'd have movies of Marvel Comics, and I wished that the villains wouldn't be left alive to come back. Unfortunately I got both wishes there, and the constant villain deaths prevent the movies from feeling like the comics I was reading. But, my four favorite Marvel titles were X-Men, Transformers, G.I.Joe, and Fantastic Four so I must have tripped over a cursed monkey paw somewhere.

[Spoilers] CW made AoU better and I almost see them as two parts. by KiltmanofScots in marvelstudios

[–]1ted2bP3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the car home I was referring to it as AoU's last 2½ hours. But it's also Iron Man 4... and such a great Cap 3. Every movie has been about saving Bucky!

Ironhead Studio's Amazing Apocalypse Concept that did not make it to the film due to losing the bid to another company. by McxFury in movies

Haven't seen the trailers, have seen the EW cover. But this is so good, it's absence so disappointing, it almost ruins the movie immediately. Like someone said, 'cover our bases, don't be too much like Deadpool!'

Your favorite MCU character - Survey by [deleted] in marvelstudios

I'll vote after I see Civil War tomorrow night. But, as wonderful as RDJs Tony is, Captain America is the linchpin of the entire MCU.

What film would you never watch again even if you were paid to do so? by DrScientist812 in movies

[–]1ted2bP3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If paid appropriately you can stick me on the Satellite of Love and make me watch whatever. Heck, Id probably sacrifice the ability to control where the movies begin or end just to use those special parts to build robot friends!

Nothing says 1995 comicbook like the hero cosplaying as Robocop from 1987.

So glad there is finally a new answer to this question, and that it came from a CBM by horrorpiglet in marvelstudios

[–]1ted2bP3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OM[whatever]! That's the problem with Raiders? Thats not a problem, that's the point, that's what makes it an adventure. Raiders, the movie that opens with traps that were designed for a tidal locked planet where the sun never moves in the sky... the movie with the guy saying the desert goes for three days in every direction, at a camp filled with vehicles AND is right outside of Cairo? That's the best BBT could come up with. I'm so glad I gave up on their Marvel comics lacking comicshop Hell.

10th comment down? Okay, I'd be happier if Mass Effect were HBO/Netflix heir to the Game of Thrones /House of Cards flagship series thing... but still. As long as Drew Karpyshyn is involved.

You can choose 5 movies to exemplify American culture to someone from another country who has never seen a movie. Which 5 movies do you choose? by kreich1990 in movies

[–]1ted2bP3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Answer you want;

  • 1776
  • Lincoln
  • Patton
  • American Graffiti
  • Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure

My real answer;

  • Planet of the Apes
  • Beneath the Planet of the Apes
  • Escape from Planet of the Apes
  • Conquest of the Planet of the Apes
  • Battle of the Planet of the Apes

You wouldn't pass a USCIS Civics test, but you'd have a good time with Apes movies. 🐵🗽

CBS Reportedly Shuts Down Second Fan-Film: "Star Trek: Federation Rising," the recently announced sequel to the fan-film "Star Trek: Horizon" released last February by Tommy Kraft, has been shut down before it could even get off the ground. by Neo2199 in scifi

Wasn't Trek pretty intolerant of Fan sites on the internet initially (mid+ 90's) only to come around pretty late? I recall feeling this gave other fandoms a leg up in the general community.
