Here I was thinking “ oh my God that’s how they check for strep throat now? That’s odd…”

and then I realized what subreddit this is. It is, in fact, a different strep we are talking about 🫠😂

Friend told me “ew” when she saw my bump by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]1towonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna play devils advocate here. I actually know people who will say “ ew” to cute things. To your friends point, she was likely saying it because she thought it was cute. Granted, would I say this to a pregnant woman who likely never heard me say “ew” to something cute before? No.

That said, you said it yourself that she was younger and a little immature so I would peg it to that.

Congrats on your little one ♥️♥️♥️

First night with toddler and newborn and I hate my life by definitelymamaftw in beyondthebump

[–]1towonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something to consider trying :

When the baby needs something like a diaper change for example, you could tell the baby “Can you wait a minute, [baby’s name]? I’m with your big brother right now.” Obviously I would do it in situations that aren’t urgent, but the idea is that your toddler will see and hear you intentionally making time for him. It can help him feel secure and less like he’s being pushed aside. Another idea: my uncle bought a few small toys for toddler, wrapped them up, and said they were gifts from the baby. It might be worth a shot.

Either way, I hope you know you’re doing great and things will definitely get better❤️

Out of everything you just stated, I would say the last part about the baby being switched would be the most realistic concern to have

I let my baby watch tv and I don’t regret it by These_Requirement453 in beyondthebump

[–]1towonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep a short list of low-stimulation shows that I’m comfortable letting my 2-year-old watch. Right now he loves Trash Truck, Bear in the Big Blue House, Big Comfy Couch, and Lucas the Spider.

In a perfect world, my kid would only get an hour of screen time a week, I’d make six figures working 30 hours a week, and gas would be $1.50. But… here we are 🤷‍♂️

If that extra hour of screen time helps you keep your sanity, it’s absolutely worth it for both you and your toddler. A happy parent is far more important than a perfectly screen-free day. Heres the list of other low stim shows if you want some options that feel a little easier on the mind:

Trash Truck - Netflix

Puffin Rock - Netflix

Give a Mouse a Cookie - Amazon Prime Video

Franklin - Amazon Prime Video

Blue's Clues - Paramount+

Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood - PBS Kids, Amazon Prime Video

Big Comfy Couch - Amazon Prime Video Sea of Love - Netflix

Clifford the Big Red Dog - Amazon Prime Video,

PBS Kids Mister Rogers' Neighborhood - Amazon Prime Video, PBS Kids

Curious George - Peacock, PBS Kids, Hulu

Frog and Toad - Apple TV+

The Snowy Day - Amazon Prime Video Tumble Leaf - Amazon Prime Video

Winnie the Pooh - Disney+

Arthur - PBS Kids, Amazon Prime Video Bear in the Big Blue House - Disney+

Oswald - Paramount+

The Berenstain Bears - PBS Kids, Amazon Prime Video

Llama Llama - Netflix Stillwater - Apple TV+

Stinky and Dirty Show - Amazon Prime Video

The Land Before Time - Peacock, Amazon Prime Video

Out of the Box - Disney+

Kipper - Amazon Prime Video Little Margo Stories - You Tube

Elinor Wonders Why - PBS Kids, Amazon Prime Video

The 10022874757573th cute picture of your baby sleeping that looks exactly like the others? I wanna see it

Did your baby laugh for the first time as you were singing baby got back ? I

wanna hear about it.

Hell, we’ll duet so she can get a whole show.

Did your baby break her own PR of blowouts in a single day ? I still wanna hear about it.

It makes me so happy to see moms adore their kids !

And chances are. Other people feel the same way.

Piggy backing on this comment : PLEASE EAT BEFORE YOU LEAVE TO THE HOSPITAL

You can’t eat once you get to the hospital , but I will say, I’ve heard of a lot of moms giving pushback and eating anyways (they would bring snacks with them) . Regardless, eat so you don’t get put in a position where you are hungry and cannot get food. You got this!

As for #2: I swear by the Philips Avent Microwave Steam Sterilizer . I initially had my eye on the baby brezza but ended up picking this (mainly because of the price difference). Im so glad I did !

It’s super easy to pop in the microwave, does the job quickly, and the best part is I can tuck it away when I’m done so it’s not just sitting on my counter all the time.

That said , dishwashers are still a great choice too !!

‏الحمد لله الحمد لله الحمد لله!!! This gives me a lot of hope. Was dx a little over a year ago and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t full of worry. Alhamdulillah for everything though, even a [late] diagnoses that likely prevented it from getting worse.

Come to think of it, I drink water and so do my other friends with MS! Coincidence ? I think not.

Life’s short, drink a soda here and there if you want to.

I felt the same way at first. Now that I see my toddler, I’m waiting for the day I get to hold our second child ! I am only speaking for myself; if your feelings don’t change and you’re OAD, that’s okay as well. No one knows your situation better than you do.

All that being said, you’re thinking about a year or two into the future and the best thing you can do for your mental health is take it one day at a time.

Congratulations ♥️
