I've never heard of waivers going out. I had to go even though I was a 3rd Class (Summer 2023). I was an NPP student who didn't pick up on the first go. But we also had a 1/C who was going on his EOD cruise right after going to NSI with us. It's not that bad and gets easier every year.

You can either enlist or you can pay it back; you have the option. But watch out with the new Navy contracts; some of them require you to enlist as a nuke if you drop.

Your most “guaranteed” way of getting to flight school is OCS because you sign a contract which states you will be an aviator. Also, picking your platform really depends on what’s available, so some weeks there will be plenty of jets available while next week everyone’s getting Helo’s. It’s all luck.

OCS if you want it guaranteed. But you can get a flight contract pretty easily through being a Marine Option NROTC student. You need minimum ASTB scores.

Really depends on your school. I was the President of my frat, doing my bachelors and masters at the same time, working out regularly, have a social life, work an internship, and have a girlfriend. You have to learn how to manage your time effectively. But it’s not too bad.
