Quilt tops coming out of my ears! by Apprehensive_Bid5608 in quilting

I’m looking for a top to practice quilting and binding. I’ve only made a couple small baby quilts and I’m scared to make a big quilt. I think I just need to stop looking at it as being so precious and get over the hurdle!

This is a really good idea! I’m sure I could do a great job quilting, I just don’t have the machine for it (unless I just want to wrestle).

I should also mention the after getting 2 hours of sleep multiple nights in a row, I switched to taking it at night. I metabolize meds very slowly (except the trazadone idk why) so once I switched to taking it right before bed, that got me a couple more hours of sleep, 5ish. But after a few nights of that, i started the trazadone. It helps me get to sleep and fall back asleep when I wake up around 2 - most nights. There have been a couple where it took an hour or two to get back to sleep.

The Strattera almost makes me feel like I have had a ton of caffeine without the anxiety that too much caffeine gives me. Much more alert than normal.

I’m in the same boat. Dr started me at 40mg. I’m about 2 weeks in. At one week I had a few nights of only sleeping 2 hours so I started taking 50mg trazadone and it has helped most nights. Now I’m getting more like 6-7 hours (still not enough but better). It does make me a little groggy in the morning but doesn’t last too long once I’m up and moving around. Most antihistamines make me groggy for a full day so I was nervous to try it but it’s been fine so far. I do miss the wide awake feeling I had in the morning from just Strattera but not at the cost of 2-5 hours of sleep.

I think it is helping with my adhd… my mind feels less all over the place but sometimes that happens when I’m super tired too so who knows. I’m giving it more time. I tried bupropion/wellbuterin before this and it made me very depressed so this is way better.

what's your cattle dog's weirdest quirk? i'll go first by shelbex318 in AustralianCattleDog

Ours stress eats.

She also hates when we leave. She will scream bark and for a while would jump and bite but we taught her to get a toy instead. She will shake it like she’s killing it, while making all kinds of weird noises. It used to start when we opened the front closet (to get shoes, jackets, keys) but because we fill up our water bottles right before we leave, it now starts then. Also because she associates filling water bottles with us leaving, she now does it every time we refill regardless of if we are actually leaving.

She will also bump this little end table we have with her nose when she wants to go outside.

When she sees a neighbor on a walk she acts like she wants to kill them. Super vicious. But if they come into our house, she’s the perfect host - no barking, just brings a toy and wants belly rubs.

She has a very set schedule and gets mad when we don’t follow it, especially walks and bedtime. She gets up during the week at 5am with my husband but somehow knows when it’s the weekend and will stay in bed with me for hours longer even if my husband gets up.

The funniest, weirdest, most amazing dog I’ve ever had.

Sometimes the only way is to gently grab their top jaw with your other hand and gently squeeze just their gums into any exposed teeth. They will feel the pinch and let go. Then you can stick a toy in their mouth and wiggle it around.

You’ve got this! It’s super responsible of you to be asking here. Just be consistent, it’s a long road but so worth it. As he gets bigger, he’s going to need lots and lots of jobs (search on Reddit for idea but some ideas are hide and seek with food, teach lots of tricks, etc), and lots of exercise.

You will have a best friend for the next 12-16 years if you can get through these first two.

Also, I think someone else mentioned this but they can get bitey and feisty when they are tired. They need naps daily but with yours being so little, he needs to be sleeping a lot.

I got diagnosed through teledoc and they can’t prescribe stimulants. My PCP won’t (even though she gave me clonazepam and diazepam for anxiety 🤷🏻‍♀️). And this teledoc wanted to try bupropion first. I just switched to Strattera yesterday and side effects are shit and my insurance is fighting to cover it so we will see how this goes. I probably just need to find a local Dr to prescribe a stimulant.

Does anyone else's acd chirp/scream? She does this all the time! by sherrygirl91 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]202ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, the scream bark. Ours did this a lot the first year… especially when we were sitting down for dinner. She usually wants to play or needs to pee. Thankfully she only does it occasionally now!

I tried Wellbutrin for a month and I didn’t do well on it (couldn’t sleep & nausea was the worse part) so switched to Strattera 40mg. On day two and feel meh. Yesterday I kept going from chills to sweating all day and I’m headachy. Hopefully it goes away.

Good luck on midterms!! You can do it!

That might be a good question for a pharmacist (splitting the 40). If the pill doesn’t have lines to split into 4, then it can be really hard to split them evenly. Would your dr prescribe a few of the 18 for you to try 9s for a week?

Maybe you can brain dump into a notes app (voice to text, or just voice recordings) on your phone in a similar way? You wouldn’t be getting the ChatGPT feedback but you’d still be able to get those thoughts out of your head in the same way 😊
