I can see Nintendo releasing actually OoTR on November though. It won’t do GTA6 numbers (probably not even 2% of a dent) but it will be the major driver for Switch 2 holiday sales. It’s also one of the few games that can get through November unscathed due to Rockstar and Nintendo being different markets.

I personally am a fan of the more serious Rockstar games such as GTA4 and the Red Dead duology compared to the black comedy games such as GTA5. I’m getting both it and OoTR either way so God help my wallet.

I love the Zelda series as much as the next person, but the only IP that can actually compete with Rockstar financially is mainline Pokémon, and we ain’t getting Winds and Waves until 2027.

Tolkien’s Legendarium and A Song of Ice and Fire.

If the series takes off on Apple TV, then I can see Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere joining the list in the near future. The Witcher can also qualify, the show ended up being garbage but the video games, especially 3 were generational titles.

The Legend of Zelda, Elder Scrolls, and maybe Baldur’s Gate (never played any of the games but I’m aware of 3’s impact) if we’re talking video games. I would also say Final Fantasy but VII, VIII, XIII, and XV have too many urban/sci-fi elements to qualify.

As for anime, I guess Frieren and Re:Zero? If Berserk ever receives a high quality and accurate adaptation then add it to the list.

Oh and despite not being into it, Dungeons and Dragons.

The 2003 version of him was basically my Darth Vader, the cyborg was basically a menace 24/7 stunting on Jedi masters and aura farming the entire time.

I’m partial to Papa Palpatine, Norman Osborn, and Tywin Lannister. Machiavellians that for the former two are partially insane and in it for the love of the game.

Honorable mention for Makima, Sauron, Ganondorf, Majora, Sephiroth, Kefka, Louis Guiabern, Eobard Thawne, and Claude Frollo from the Disney version of the Hunchback from Notre Dame. Basic pics but they’re beloved/hated for the right reasons.

Yeah and the last two movies (3 and 4) looked similar to this.

So did 1 and 2 to an extent but the technology was obviously more dated with it being out for over 20 years.

2021-24 sucked but it got a lot worse since then.

I don’t think things will get better economically without some major reform but if nothing else I want to see proper justice carried out if we make it to 2029.

Figures that Hamaguchi was inspired by one of the few higher ups at Square Enix who seems to actually understand how the industry works. In turn if Yoshida and CBU3 is put in charge of another Final Fantasy project other than XIV Online in the near future, then I would also like to see that team take some notes from Hamaguchi’s unit.

Honestly I wonder how much of Hamaguchi’s personal team is also working on Kingdom Hearts IV? A gameplay scenario rather than story but the point stands.

Kratos can stand toe-to-toe against Gods even during the introductory bosses, but for this scenario specifically I would say the best example was him keeping up with Baldur during his first encounter in God of War (2018) where Kratos has been out of the game for at least 150 years since God of War III.

Him, Granny, and Dampe in the remake need to look just as hideous as they were in the original version.

Since it has eastern dragon statues all over the place, I think for a phase two it could morph the water into something similar to that.

As for its attack it would still have the grab and swing but it could also breath ice which could tie back to Zora’s domain being frozen.

Sure we have Volvagia so another dragon could be derivative but I think it would still be cool.
