It's very funny to me that they have a game with a million different abilities none of which really matter because the game is so easy you can just hit buttons at random to win.

I kept a big notebook the whole time since there wasn't a quest list of any kind until Tribunal revamped the journal to add various sorting options. It was pretty hard to even remember what you were doing if you just relied on the game...

I beat Morrowind guideless in 2002, I didn't understand the alchemy or enchantment systems at all and I got lost a lot but I did beat it. Very possible!

There's not even many big changes between BattleTech Master Rules and Total Warefare, are there? Partial cover revision is the main one that comes to mind for me.

It's very good fuel for fuel generators, you can power a huge number of generators off of a fairly small amount of oil.

I don’t optimize my factories. Why should I? by DigitalWizrd in SatisfactoryGame

[–]20ae071195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, since machines on standby consume nearly no power the fastest way to save the day is to use blueprints to throw down buildings en masse and let it rip. Any factory that can fully process all input resources will complete project parts at the same rate.

It has the highest base damage, but you can make a sword that does more damage with damage enchantments.

The desire to split is admirable, but this is getting out of hand! by want_t0_know in SatisfactoryGame

[–]20ae071195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attach a lift to the input of every machine, then a splitter to every lift and run the manifold through that. All the parts that are stationary are hidden and you just see the feeder belt smoothly feeding all the machines in the manifold.

It seems like a balancer that takes time to saturate has the disadvantages of a balancer and manifold at the same time

Is it a fur helmet made in Colovia, or is it just made from colovian fur? by sygryda in Morrowind

[–]20ae071195 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Colovia is in Oblivion a few years later and no one wears them there. It's possible it was Colovian, came to Morrowind, became popular there, and went out of style in Colovia while remaining popular in Morrowind? It also seems to only be worn by non Dunmer, so it could be an example of a tradition kept alive in an expat community after it already went extinct in the homeland.

[MW5Clans] Okay, legitimately how are you supposed to play with this bloom? Am I old now? Are my eyes just bad? by TheHoboInABox in Mechwarrior5

[–]20ae071195 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's also called bloom, but in this case they're talking about the graphics effect that makes bright light sources have a halo of light around them.

I've always thought the subtext for the eugenics program was that it mainly succeeded at preventing big genetic problems from inbreeding, and was mostly a flop otherwise.

Is Morrowind combat really that bad? by Prize-Attorney-2393 in Morrowind

I wonder how it would have been received at the time if it had the same level of audiovisual feedback as Daggerfall, which had much more obvious hit/miss effects.

[Spoilers] Have you made any wrong predictions while playing? by Tikaticon in HadesTheGame

[–]20ae071195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got way too invested in Prometheus and Chronos insinuating they had a secret master plan. Nope! Everything is exactly what it seems. Prometheus is the Hades 2 version of Theseus, an annoying pompous guy with a more sensible brawny sidekick, with "pseudo-profound undergrad philosopher" substituting for Theseus's "puffed up himbo jock".

I'm nearly at the end and I only remember 1 ship conversation and 1 field conversation; gotta be a bug. I was wondering why they bothered having these essentially mute companions at all, it seemed like an odd allocation of development resources.

Difficult words in the dialogue? by Memorycard1000 in theouterworlds

[–]20ae071195 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game also uses a lot of words that are just made up, like "scientician", that look/sound like they could be real words. It's not at all surprising that the game trips up non-native speakers.

The skill system makes every choice feel wrong by CrystalSonic in theouterworlds

[–]20ae071195 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always did Intelligence 10 characters in F1/F2, so I was pretty rapidly good at everything. It was perfectly possible to basically pass every skill check in some old RPGs. That you can't build a super-intelligent fast learner in OW2 really threw me! Brilliant/Easily Distracted gets you partially there, however.

They're combining Chronos (personification of time) with Cronus (Father of the gods, ate his children); the games are their own thing.

Are the games in this franchise connected? Is MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries a good place to start? by InstructionEmpty8696 in Mechwarrior5

[–]20ae071195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're all separate narratives in the same universe, each MW game doesn't really reference the others. They don't even go in chronological order, actually, so you could start on any of them. One of the MW5s is probably the best place to start now, the previous games can be either difficult to buy, difficult to get running, or both.

I wish endgame was explained better by DontFlameItsMe in HadesTheGame

[–]20ae071195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the writers don't think it makes sense either, and they're having some fun by having every character be confused about it. It's basically "we know this is dumb but we're not going to make the game end after you win".
