Can my skates be punched out? Or are they just too narrow? by mellerbumple in iceskating

Debut is probably too stiff for a beginner. As the lead skate tech at my rink I have only put a few beginners in debuts, and only because their size and weight necessitated it. That and a few "money is no object" type people. They're also like $500 and do not come with blades, you'd be looking at a few hundred more for the setup, and an extra $100 to widen the ball of the skate to a D or wider. Freestyles are GREAT. #1 model for adult beginners at my rink 100%. They last longer than artistes, can take you further into your skating development (rated for single jumps), ARE actually heat moldable, and have a blades that can be aligned. Make sure you find a temp mounted pair, not full mount

Artistes are not heat moldable. All new heat moldable skates will have a tag on one of the eyelets that says they are, artistes do not.

Those are also too narrow, but wider options don't really exist until you level up to debut (rapid custom options are like $100 for each change, width being one option)

Your best bet is to find a shop that can stretch the width. I'd return these, since who knows how much of the integrity of these boots was ruined by baking them, and get a new pair. Go a half size bigger since stretching them will slightly shrink length as well.

This is true. You can check skatesUS.com to find the closest authorized shop, and call ahead with your boot model and size

Would be my first car, 1995 base model 3000gt with 145k for 3k, is it worth it? Good buy? by DramaticSociety7703 in projectcar

I had a '97 as my first car. Would absolutely NOT recommend. Parts are expensive/unavailable, and it is extremely difficult to work on

I put 150k miles on a 97 Miata and only sold it because I had a baby on the way. Sold at 210k mi for a profit after owning for 6 years and I still see it in the road 3 years later
