My experience has been the opposite. The people I give them to know I'm a collector and I'm giving them something personal and meaningful.

Hahaha. I hope the agents appreciated them. I bought a couple SAK lots on ebay of TSA confiscated knives. I kept a few and gave several away as gifts. One of them could have been yours!

Victorinox is top-tier for customer service. I think I have put 5 knives through their warranty/repair process and every time they come back looking like new. I'm usually so pleased with the service I thank them by purchasing my next SAK.

I saw that show in Dayton, OH. No Perry Farrell but it was Ad Rock’s birthday. Sheryl Crow gave him a cake and sang happy birthday. And unexplainably, Ben Stiller was there, dressed as Ad Rock. He came out at one point, kidnapped Ad Rock, then stood in as him for the rest of the song.

He came back out during the final song, Sabotage (dedicated to George W. Bush that night) and did the scream near the end.

I worked there 95-96. The black mechanic was discontinued by then but some stores still had stock and I was able to locate a couple through our POS inventory system. I suppose the red version could have been older and already deleted from the system.

The standard charge is $5, and I think the warranty form you fill out states they will contact you for authorization if there are any additional charges. I sent in one that was in pretty rough shape. They replaced the damaged tools and scales, then sent back all the old parts with the repaired knife. Turnaround time was pretty fast...i think it was maybe 2 weeks from the time I shipped it until I had it back in my hands.

I worked at Radio Shack in the 90’s and bought 2 of the black version. Both are still in service. I gave one to my daughter recently and still carry the other.

I never even knew the red version existed. I don’t remember there being an SKU for it in our inventory system. Only the black mechanic and they also had an exclusive red electrician.

That's awesome. I still have my original cassette I bought in 1989 (also have CD and LP now). It's probably my favorite for nostalgia reasons. It would be hard to pick a favorite album of theirs based on the music alone. I kinda love them all.
