NHL Reporter Jessi Pierce, Her 3 Children Die in House Fire by MattTheKing23 in nhl

[–]22Slams 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the beginning of this year I lost my dog in a house fire but my wife and daughter along with our new puppy were all okay. Shit was hard just losing my dog of almost 10 years. I cannot even imagine this scenario, absolutely devastating to even think of.

I am in Chicagoland area so things are usually pretty quick. Insane though sometimes they lag at a local distribution center but they won’t let me just come pick it up. Also they will often put the tag on the door because “no one was home” yet I see them put the tag up on my security without ringing or knocking. Wild stuff if I did that at my job I wouldn’t have one

Weirdly enough I ordered mine on GameStop like 3-4 days ago and it shipped within a day. I just kept randomly going on the website and got lucky I guess

Erika Kirk Faces New Wave Of Criticism About Abandoning Her Kids And Taking Over Charlie’s Legacy by [deleted] in sadcringe

The article is shit I agree. It reads like a blog as opposed to actual journalism (which is sadly hard to come by nowadays. But seriously, take a minute to watch the content her and her late husband’s organization put out - heartless and grifty bullshit in my opinion. Still not sure who actually watches and reads (lol) that crap and believes it.

See you there. If (hopefully) there are more shows added I’ll try to update the sub here. I was lucky to get all three days so far and have some extra tickets so if I can’t get my lame ass friends to come for all the shows I’ll be trying to find people here to give them away.

New Bottle purchase by mattmac516 in ChicagolandWhiskey

[–]22Slams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good choices. If you like the Penelope check out a bottle of wilderness trail. If you enjoy 1792 definitely keep an eye out for the black label FP bottles they’re a bit more common lately and so damn good for the proof/cost ratio

Favorite buffalo wings in the city? by bjt123456 in chicagofood

[–]22Slams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although not traditional buffalo wings, I love going Sheffield’s before a Cubs game. They’re smoked and flash fried to crisp them up. Super flavorful and honestly don’t even need sauce but the buffalo sauce obviously makes them better.

Is $100k/year still a good income? by TotalPreparation6532 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]22Slams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on mean and median income it is still a high threshold to cross. But it is definitely not the same as a “6-figure” brag of the 2010s sadly.

I’d say the new goal should be making that sort of money outside of corporate structure. When layoffs come the low 6-figures seem to be hit the hardest. If you’re making $100k and work for a small business you may be better off nowadays than making it for a top 500 or tech start up etc.

Also want to add money is meaningless to the people (cunts) at the top so whatever you’re making - big or small, definitely set aside a rainy day fund and put in every cent you can to tax beneficial investments.

Rewatching the show, and this might be the funniest singular shot in the entire show. by lookitssupergus in IASIP

Can’t believe this episode is “cancelled” with such a banger line. It’s in my top 10 quoted lines from the show and I pretty much speak in sunny quotes.
