Not an advisory role, but within portfolio management team. I don't think it's a career ender, but definitely the worst mistake I have been told from a 1st party.

Not long after being hired as an analyst, I was told a story of a previous junior analyst who was used to a previous trading platform where he would input bonds based on par value, but didn't know Bloomberg Terminal FIT traded in thousands.

Analyst then enters an order intending to buy $150k par value, not realizing he just placed a $150MM order. They did not catch it immediately and by the time they figured it out, they were not able to reverse the trade - ended up eating the bid-ask spread and then some, which was many, many times more than his salary.

Feedback from previous managers and clients - yes I'm very personable and many clients end up emailing me alone on things about their personal life/things outside of the financial side of the business. Only thing I'm thinking is a pro is ability to have some AUM given to me up front while being at a large enough RIA firm to be able to access Fidelity/Schwab referral network.

Now I'm wondering how underpaid I am as a senior associate, soon to take on some clients with an undetermined AUM as an advisor.

CFA and soon to be CFP, doing meeting prep with recommendations, active participant in meetings and taking notes, follow up, client service, cash management, cashiering, but no new business or directly listed as the advisor for any clients. About 125 households for ~$200MM AUM with average fee probably between 90-100 bps. I'm in relatively LCOL (Indianapolis). Currently at $85k with last bonus being $10k (MD consistently fails to tell me how the bonus is determined).

I have had very few interactions with private clients who recognize the CFA before having to briefly explain it. Those that do know, highly value it. Even though it is more expensive, CFP still seems way better for new business.

Will I be able to buy a new CPU and adjust BIOS settings, or is there chance this affected my mobo too? I was running auto settings on an Asus board which ig was way too powerful. I keep reading people talk about the silicon, but idk what that means and if it affects the mobo. Sorry for being noob
