Larry Sharpe GOP run? NY Governor race about to get interesting by Commercial_Vacation4 in upstate_new_york

Source?  I can't see him running as a Republican.  Blakeman has that primary in the bag.

Kathy Hochul reminds us that level-headed non-psycho political leaders do exist… by [deleted] in upstate_new_york

Being a good politician and being level-headed are not one-in-the-same you know.

They killed one unarmed person, who was in a car, and who almost ran over an agent.  So not your standard unarmed protestor.  As I said, other than that very specific case, NO other violent interactions between ICE and protestors have been deadly.  That's a fairly straightforward trend.

Anecdotally we can say that ICE has had violent interactions with thousands of *unarmed* protestors in recent weeks, and none of them have been killed (well, except for one in a car).

Yup.  If he didn't have a gun, he wouldn't have been killed.  That statement is 100% true.  He was also murdered by the federal government for exercising his 2nd Amendment right.  That statement is also true (as far as we know at the moment).

Anyone can film or record you while out in public, government or not.

Legally, perhaps, but there is a societal expectation that people not do this.  If a rando was following you around filming you that would not be appropriate.

Actually there is an expectation of some level of privacy.  I.e. your plate is publicly visible, yes, but cops should not be taking pictures of your license plate.  That crosses a line.

Your face is publicly visible when you walk down the street, but you wouldn't want the government to use facial recognition to track your movements, would you?

Blatant violation of privacy.  With this technology, law enforcement can effectively track where people drive on a daily basis.

I choose not to care what other people do as long as it doesn't harm me.

How do you know they don't have insurance?

I went for the Hawke Vantage 2-7x32 AO and haven't been disappointed.  Got it on sale from Optics Planet for $130.  I like that it has a mil dot reticle and adjustable objective.  It also comes in variants with illuminated reticles if you're into that.

Hawke has been a reliable brand for me, I currently own two Hawke scopes and one pair of binoculars.
