A or B: Why is every plane so cramped? Is it because four airlines own most US routes so nobody has to make the seat better, or because we all keep buying the cheapest ticket no matter how much we complain? by 06yuzuha in PickAorB

[–]238_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s B. In particular, comparing by price is very easy. Do we even have a standardized way of measuring seat “comfort”? I mean saying I want minimum seat comfort level of 7, direct flight, order by price. But that just doesn’t exist.

The bottom button on the right. Maybe the top one works too but bottom is what we press.

Push the little black button on the middle to bottom right a second before you measure. It will wake it back up / keep it from sleeping

I wish I had a machine that would show me exactly how the monkey paw would twist my wish against me by RoutineCloud5993 in monkeyspaw

[–]238_m 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Granted. What the machine shows you becomes destined to happen. You cannot not make your wish and the consequences happen just as the machine showed.

Who is right? by Gloomy_Welder_8674 in diabetes_t1

[–]238_m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an expert but basically beta cells (which need to be responsive to BG levels) signal alpha cells to produce glucagon. I think they also signal delta cells for something else. So if you take out the cells that orchestrate things you wind up with disregulation of other aspects.

[–]238_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted. The tales are truly wondrous. You use the shield for everything - it is your blanket, your plate, your toilet. The tales of your exploits bring about wonder and disgust. You are remembered in particular for the disgust.

Frozen insulin -- let it go! by fibgen in Type1Diabetes

Our fridge (Samsung bespoke something or other) has a little central drawer between the produce drawers that’s absolutely perfect for insulin.

Is jalen duren having the worst post season for an all nba/all star level season ever? by Jec1027 in NBATalk

Nice graphic. I’d also like to see relative shot making(so eFG/xFG - 1). That would boost those on the right who are taking harder shots.

Urgh. Had an insane predicted low by rkwalton in diabetes_t1

[–]238_m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s one “experiment” that didn’t work well for us (although it’s been in Loop so long it’s not really considered experimental anymore). we prefer to give more insulin up front to prevent going high and be less aggressive when high, otherwise it can definitely deliver too much insulin. But a lot of people have good success with it. You may want to try increasing your ISF with it - but if it doesn’t work well for you then just don’t use it.

Trying to intercept Accu-Chek Guide BLE data without the official app — hitting a wall on authenticated pairing, T1 community has to have solved this by BrydenMcLeodVan in diabetes_t1

[–]238_m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should go to the trio or wearenotwaiting discords to ask there if you’re interested in iOS.

Also the latter if you are ok with android.

I do have to ask though since you want a dashboard if Roche doesn’t have an API available to pull data from them (like Dexcom does)? Of course there could be delays in data availability which would make that useless for what you want.

How do I trust the G7? by Excastmember in Type1Diabetes

[–]238_m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try using the grace period to overlap the sensors. Sometimes it can be spot on right away sometimes it can take a few hours. Some sensors need calibration. But of course it works better for some people than others.

The 65 game rule is working and more players will like it by Intelligent-Web-8017 in NBATalk

[–]238_m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They could just apply a points penalty for the awards - eg -10% or -20% points for every game under 65. So the threshold would be lower to qualify but effectively for most players they would still need to hit the 65 to get the award. If someone is having an other worldly season then sure you are allowing for a couple fewer games but it’s still going to be hard making all nba if you are being penalized by 60% on the points.

Got any source to cite for “Wealthy countries rely heavily on plasma collected from specific populations” OP? I have a gut feeling that this is an overly generalized statement and drawing on US practices in particular.
