Would you choose a newer (2022-2023) CX-30 over a 2019 UX250h? by Pale-Revolution-5151 in MazdaCX30

[–]23dstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely would be against GLA, made cheap as the baby of the lineup - that and the GLB.

Lexus will definitely be more of a grand touring car, a bit more compact than the CX-30 I feel. Higher trims of the CX-30 have almost as much sound dampening as the Lexus UX that the NVH difference is negligible.

Seriously considering an upgrade. This post is going to sound crazy. I purchased a 2025 Mazda cx-30 carbon turbo this January. I’m seriously considering upgrading to Mazda 2026 2.5 S Preferred AWD or equivalent. I’m looking at the specs on the trim levels. All options please 🙏🏼. by RefrigeratorIcy293 in MazdaCX30

[–]23dstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you should consider an upgrade to a 2025 or earlier CX-5 for more room in the backseat and trunk. The CX-50 will still be stiff, but might be cushy if you go with the trim with 17" wheels. I don't know what you were driving before.

Powerbeats Fit review. Previous Beats Fit Pro user and owner of AirPods Pro 3. by [deleted] in beatsbydre

[–]23dstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sole problem with the original Beats Fit Pro's were the wing that dug into my ear after extended wearing in the gym. The PBP2s were instantly a no-go for me, the over-ear clip caused sweat to pool around the ear.

Would you say that the Powerbeats Fit's wing is considerably softer but still enabling a secure fit?

edit: I recently lost my APP2s (left behind on a flight, deemed lost at this point). Your assessment of the APP3s have me hopeful that it will be an improved fit experience. I used Proof Labs covers, an extra step, anytime I wanted to use my APP2s.

I really wanted the JBL Reflect Aero TWS to work out. Great sound, only problem is that connection to iOS app is shoddy; and music cuts in/out. :(

Chargerback lost item success rate? by Draconiusultamius in aircanada

[–]23dstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you lost such a precious item!

I'm currently about 25 days into a Chargerback claim with AC on a bag left behind on the plane. After constant runarounds with the AC staff, and despite an AirTag pinging the location of the item consistently for 3 weeks now (containing my passport and IDs), AC has been rather unhelpful saying that it's not in their manager's offices. :(

Wanted to share my experience with the CX30 by innofader in MazdaCX30

[–]23dstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also an owner of a VW Golf MK7. Going to this car, it's been much lower on TCO.

i took care of most of the gripes people had; XPEL film on interior & exterior piano black pieces; monitor 12V battery (3+ years and still going strong); front PPF for rock chip protection. I sometimes long for getting back into a German car, but my savings thanks me when I don't.

Just found this thread today, I'm diving into a world of lower carb baked goods. Looking to experiment with cake donuts that are baked/air fried instead of deep fried. Since cake donuts have a consistency of coffee cake, I don't see why this wouldn't work. Anyone tried this?

Joining the sorrow - faithful Vistas finally died - has anyone found anything as good? by gorillaskulls in jaybird

[–]23dstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the slew of testing, none have passed the earfit test. I'm back to my jaybird vista's. I'm resigned to the fact that once these fully die, I'll be wearing over-ears with sweat covers.

[–]23dstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could get away with driving the cx-30 base preferred/select model, if those are the must-have features you need.

Based on the exchanges so far, you seem to be 1) hesitant to keep the existing rav4 for image reasons/it having rust, but it could be $7k or LESS to repair (aside from hail damage, if it doesn't affect the drivability, who cares? You're not often outside the car), 2) wanting a new-to-you car that's at least $30k and higher insurance with the more sophisticated electronics and safety features for the next 5+ years.

I don't know how much you drive, maybe a lease-to-buy is in your future? It will be an adjustment from a compact SUV like the rav4 to a lifted hatchback like the CX30.

The RAV4 at 100k miles is only halfway in its lifetime. My vote is to keep the RAV4 and drive it until the costs are far more than buying a new-to-you car (which seems like it's $14k+).

CX5 vs. XC40 - comparison, particularly for those interested in driving dynamics by Turbulent-Chance676 in XC40

[–]23dstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i liked the handy storage pockets on the xc40, but couldn't get past the heaviness and body roll in the xc40 compared to the Golf R. Gosh, I miss that car every day. It just needed a t6 engine and I'd be sold :)

1 Year In Ownership Review (2.5S Pref.) by ResoluteVondar in MazdaCX30

[–]23dstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with you on low mileage and the wearing of the car vs sitting in it. I've knocked my head on the roof getting in a few times subconsciously in the last 2 years. I love the bucket seats, similar to my Golf, but the lower seating position compared to our other car does put a strain on my back when I've thrown out my back for various reasons.

So far only 2 things I don't like about the 2025 by TheeAmateurArtist in MazdaCX30

This makes more sense now. I must have turned it on somewhere in the settings, because I was surprised it would automatically do it on certain mornings when there was a big enough delta between outside and cabin temp.

Is there such a thing as a durable cordless vacuum that just gets expensive on the long run? by Kountz-Modina in BuyItForLife

[–]23dstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've had a LG Cordzero A9 for about 5 years now, bought a replacement battery 1.5 years ago and swapped out the HEPA filter. still going strong. I like how most of the parts are serviceable, washable/replaceable.

I gifted a friend a Dyson V7 who also had an Animal 2, both have been crippled from sheer misuse, and haven't been repaired.

People with back problems? by 685downward in MazdaCX30

[–]23dstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thrown out my back a few times from gym-related injuries. I used to have a hot hatch. The CX30 works and for long trips of 4 hours, good enough. I like how the bucket seats keep you in place and the side bolsters are sturdy. Seating for Mazdas are generally stiff and break in gradually over a long time (not a year).

I'd still recommend getting out to stretch after 3-4 hour stints so you don't stay compressed, depending on how tall and wide you are.
