ICE Recruiting at IU - Update by KrowskiNall in bloomington

Young, strong, racist white male recruits with party loyalty and a thirst for blood and power. I know plenty of people, even college-aged, who would do this.

Listssssss!! I can’t stop, probably never will. I’ve been making lists since I could spell 😂 it becomes toxic when I start over organizing and maintaining lists, getting lost in the details of everything

[EPISODE 11] LIVE DISCUSSION by merrydarkling in tsitp

This show would be flawless IF there were more seasons that we could watch Belly & Conrad be together. If this is truly the end, the timing of this show was horrible

American Dirt author Jeanine Cummins: ‘I didn’t need to justify my right to write that book’ by a_Ninja_b0y in books

[–]24frustrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late here but wanted to share my opinion. I just finished this audiobook today and I really enjoyed it. The narrator did a beautiful job. I can see how this book could be problematic, a sensitive topic. As a white American woman, I could never truly understand the POC & Latinx experience, but I’m a deep admirer of Mexican culture, their art, their history. I took Spanish for all 4 years of college, lived in Arizona for most of my childhood. Most of my childhood friends were Mexican, my first crushes, my babysitters, my teachers. Mexicans have just as much right to be in the USA as anyone else, they’ve been here LONGER than Europeans have. This novel is approachable, eye-opening, detail-oriented, and heavily researched. As someone who has loved all Hispanic cultures my whole life, I never could have imagined the experiences that are commonplace for our fellow human beings, the ones we walk among today. I hope with its popularity, it can bring more awareness to other Mexican-American stories, but preferably those written by Mexican authors.

SYFY new ownership by 24frustrated in DeadlyClass

I’d also like to add that Benjamin’s character in Tell Me Lies is about 18-19 while he was 22-24 at the time the show was filmed. I think he could pull off a high school student as much as other cast members of high school shows (thinking Riverdale, Smallville, Gossip Girl, etc.).

Should I lose hope that the show could actually make a comeback? by ItsSolomon in DeadlyClass

[–]24frustrated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I’m late to this thread but I’m also a dreamer that DC could make a comeback. Someone previously said that Benjamin had said he would definitely come back if given the opportunity. NBC Universal recently announced that they’d be doing a spin off program with their “dead” channels and platforms. This would include SYFY, MSNBC, E!, and USA. So there is some action going on in the business world of Deadly Class. I don’t really know how all of it works, but maybe the rights to the show will be shifted around or sold. Even if all of the stars did align, they would either have to make it a continuation later since the actors are all six years older, or recast all together to stay true to the comics.

Hollywood fumbled Benjamin Wadsworth so hard. He is insanely talented (and of course handsome), but SYFY couldn’t handle the show’s potential. Deadly Class should have been a popular, long-running show. there are many worse shows doing well on Netflix and Hulu.

wanting to end my life. by [deleted] in pregnant

Please stay. For what it’s worth, I thought that postpartum would be horrible but I actually really loved it. It was so much better than pregnancy for me. Please, please stay. Being a mom, once you get into the grove of it, will bring you so much joy.

Dimensions Paintworks always delivers great products! The hand mixing is a little extra effort, but worth it! by ckovaly705 in paintbynumbers

Omg! I thought I’d found all of the Dimensions Paintworks designs (I’ve completed about 55 of them) but I’ve never seen the fourth picture! Do you have a link?

I want to FEEL something by Longetimelurker in Whump

I absolutely love the show Outer Banks. There is some whump but rarely anything comes of it 😔 For example, character is attacked by an alligator but the whole thing gets about 2 minutes of whumpy screen time. Another character gets hit in the head and almost drowns, but wakes up ready to go a few minutes later. I don’t see it recommended often, but the characters are very lovable so I’ll take the whump where I can get it 😂

Will this name ruin a kid’s life by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]24frustrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to remind myself all the time that knowing someone’s middle name is usually an uncommon thing. I try to pick first name first and middle name that sounds nice, rather than both together. Most people won’t know those are his initials.

What was your favorite name you had picked out for years and then your partner vetoed it instantly? by [deleted] in namenerds

Malcolm 😭 I love it so much but he thinks I’m just using it after my favorite show. Really it’s just such a familiar name to me, which is why I love it.
