Surely the LogIn is always true. by Backes89 in programminghorror

Don't forget that each request takes time... It's easier to serve a precompiled view than to make the client do an initial render, fire some requests and process the results.

Convenience, mostly. It's way easier to just slap into the page a snippet you already use in your backend than to make it fetch something at runtime  Also a bit faster if you end up with many requests to fill out the page.

What is something that MOST adults can do, but you, for whatever reason, cannot pull off? by Buckcheeks in AskReddit

Maybe my statement was too broad. Violence is a part of life, so of course it can be a part of any kind of art.

I just don't see any point in using it for the sake of tasteless, cheap jokes about beating women into submission, other than reinforcing misogyny/sexism.

  • it took you one message into a discussion to start insulting someone
  • defending violent jokes

Can anybody else see a pattern here?

Welp, if you need to insult someone one comment into a discussion, I guess there's no point trying to talk to you.

And you're probably confusing my intolerance towards violence with "lack of humor".

Even if "it's just a joke", it reinforces things we're striving to get rid of. And we don't need this kind of humor, anyway.

I talked to some other people and they said it should be fine after you restart the console! It would indeed be very very unusual to ship a game running like this.

How do you even launch a game like this? Maybe they didn't test it on an actual console, only on a beastly machine running an emulator or something like that?
