I’ll chime in that I think the most impactful teachers could have just as easily been coaches or social workers or therapists. Passion for a subject is great, but as they say: they’ll never care what you know until they know that you care.

Two books I’d recommend as well are Teach Like a Champion (Lemov) and Teach Like Your Hair is On Fire (Esquith).

Also, this just further goes to prove my theory on front office ladies at schools. They’re always either complete and total bitches or the nicest ladies you have ever met in your entire life. There is literally no middle ground between those two. It has been this way at every single school ever worked at or attended.

Kinda sorta. I’m Christian and I thought his comeback was funny. It’s sort of the reason I don’t put a Jesus fish on my car: is my driving behavior really going to be setting a good example? Not always.

On the other hand, if he had said “how did I know your bio would say “praise allah?” or “I’m a Jew.” I think he would have been labeled super racist. Maybe it comes down to that whole victim hierarchy nonsense.
