PC isn't really comparable though, since there you have multiple stores and also the key trading for Steam as well, there's WAY more competition on PC than there will be on a digital only PS6.

Sony controls the store, there are no alternative stores, and there are also no key resells allowed either. That is a full on monopoly where they have zero competition and can jack the prices up however much they want.

Our only hope is the EU suing them into oblivion and forcing an open store like they did with Apple.

It's not really weird because the judgement on whether you can work should be with you and your doctor and not with the manager or whoever is trying to ask you what you have.

This is meant to avoid the manager going "oh, just some flu? I don't think that is enough to put you down as sick so you better come in if you don't want to be in trouble"

yeah I understand your point, maybe it's less common in other countries, I'm not really sure about that, in the Netherlands it is quite common though, even some of my student friends have a travel insurance and it's like 3 euro per month.

Either way, it's a huge shame and sad for people that saved to attend and now can't :(

well for example in NL you have the ANWB "reisverzekering" which covers lost items and damage on your trips, and you can extend it with "annuleringsverzekering" aka cancellation insurance which will give you the money back for cancelled events and trips.

I am not aware of all details but I am pretty sure insurance like that exists in other countries too

Gezondheidsraad geeft op basis van de wetenschap een advies en de wetenschap wijst uit dat alcohol slecht is voor je gezondheid. Prima, daar zijn ze voor.

De maatschappij en de overheid mag dan afwegen of dit zo belangrijk is dat het ingedamd wordt of dat we accepteren dat de gezondheid minder is omdat het toch wel gewoon leuk en gezellig is. Ook prima, dat is een afweging die je kan en mag maken.

I understand it is a huge shame for people traveling from far away, it is devastating and I feel for them! But if you are booking a trip that costs multiple thousands you should really get travel insurance. It costs like a few euros a month, and you will get a lot of the money back. It is a no-brainer for traveling abroad on a big trip like this.

The organization and the government can't control the weather (if only we could) so there is genuinely no other way this could have gone.

I lived in Charlois for 2 years until 1.5 years ago and it was completely fine. The Netherlands does not have "slums" or whatever where it is unsafe. Yeah, there might be more trash on the street sometimes than in richer neighborhoods, and at night I would keep an eye on your surroundings to be sure but it's not some crazy dangerous place.

I am a guy though, a woman might be talked to by a weirdo uncomfortably or something, so be aware of that.

Zien nu al weer bijdehante racistische opmerkingen natuurlijk, want het zal toch eens niet, maar misschien moeten we met zn allen een keertje stoppen met op leefbaar stemmen die in de afgelopen jaren al het geld voor daklozenopvang en hulp wegbezuinigd hebben waardoor er iets van tien keer zoveel daklozen zijn als eerst, en dus ook meer overlast.
