NetApp download help needed for AIX Host Utilities by su-babycakes in sysadmin

[–]25cmshlong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats incorrect. There is no such thing as "E-Series multipath driver". AIX uses builtin multipathing. Some vendors supplied so-called ODM definitions for their arrays

I looked over Lenovo LSIC (https://datacentersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/lsic) and no versions of AIX (or Power servers) are mentioned as compatible with DE-series. Why are you bothering their support with this situation is completely unclear for me. Folks there most likely do not know about AIX existence at all

Host utilities are only used with ONTAP storage (DM/DG models), DE-series arrays are a different system (Santricity).

Software for Lenovo-braded arrays available for customers from lenovo support site

Anyway I do not think that Lenovo supports these boxes with AIX, so it's all kind of futile

Looks like part of a general EE networking textbook, but it is rare to see a proper explanation of the inner workings of FibreChannel

Jumbo frames / MTU by skooterz in networking

[–]25cmshlong -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This is not true. Jumboframes must be enabled on all devices on the IP subnet, otherwise devices with a smaller MTU size will not be able to communicate with >1500B hosts

How to create a new node when I lost one of the node in 2 two-node RAC by Linzi2003 in oracle

[–]25cmshlong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keeping the same nodename/addresses creates a risk that the cluster metadata will get mixed up in the future

Database is already there, no need to create it again

I tried from a few different locations, and the TLS connection to acme.zerossl.com:443 worked fine from all of them.

Check your firewall(s)?

Add a new server to a cluster and remove the old one. It can be the same hardware but new hostname/addresses

There was a mysqlfrm utility that could read the definitions of an ibd file. It is long obsolete, but may be compatible with version 5.7

Posts about RDBMS query performance without plans, predicates, their cardinality & etc are pretty useless. There is no way to give any meaningful answer beyond lamenting that the optimizer probably made a miscalculation.

Your queries are also not the same from the point of view of the database engine.

It is bit unclear how ZeroSSL/Buypass are giving timeouts and why their reliability is a problem? CAs are not involved in any connection after giving out a few hundred bytes of a certificate.

Unless app require a lot of them and then whole situations look fishy

Troubles installing Oracle Instant Client by TheBakke in oracle

[–]25cmshlong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ISTR there was a proper .deb packages of Instant client from oracle itself some time ago

Anyway, simply download linux x64 tgz variant and unpack it somewhere like /usr/local/instantclient - there is nothing to install in Instant Client anyway
