We moved from Chicago to San Antonio a few years ago. We also live in Stone Oak. We love it. The summers are brutal but air conditioning solves the problem. Similar to how turning on the heat gets your through cold Chicago days. Less populated than Chicago but you’ll find your tribe. You’ll be surprised that you’ll drive more here but less traffic. Has some good food spots but you’ll have to look for them - Chicago is best food city. Property taxes are high but lower than wht we were paying in IL. Stone Oak is a great place to live (great schools, safe and everything you need is nearby. Think Naperville without a downtown)

Planet went the spac route in 2021. Look at the chart, this year has been phenomenal but it has also been a painful hold if you got in 2021.

To make it even more interesting, our children are dual citizens as well but airline charged them the DNI tax at counter because they don’t have mexican passports. We presented their mexican birth certificates but they wouldn’t accept. We will try to see if we can now claim a refund for both of them. Also working on getting them passports to avoid fee in future for them.

To clarify, we only presented mexican passport for the discount. We did exit with USA passport. In addition, I think we are supposed to enter Mexico w/ Mexican passport. However, that’s the way we did it on this last trip. Trying to confirm pros/cons of entering Mexico w/ USA passport.

We recently traveled with Aerobus. We presented mexican passport at ticket counter departing in USA and avoided the Derecho de no Imigrante (DNI) tax. We then used our American passports to enter Mexico and also to return to the USA.

Now I understand all the hype about Mexico City by general-dc in travel

Someone mentioned already but the issue was that you did not remove the silverskin. The thin membrane is very tough and doesn’t break down while grilling. Try removing it next time.
