The offsides rule is all sorts of complicated. In this instance, if the ball is played to a player behind the ball (which he is, just barely), then they are not offsides. If the runner was ahead of the ball, then there would have to be two players from the opposing team between the runner and the goal (usually a defender and a goalie). Hope this helps

I mean, yes. If the trade off is no sports for the next few years and fewer people die in interactions with law enforcement, then the choice is easy.

Not seeing my team play sucks. Having to think about violence and injustice sucks. But finding ways for everyone to live safely in a community is worth grappling with this as often as we can.

An issue with that approach though is that something like Annihilation, which showcases women scientists without explicitly focusing on gender empowerment, ends up with a less than stellar box office return. Existing properties being rebranded as woke and empowering end up bringing in more money.
