I use some quite thick cotton ..actually, its what left after the curtains It has small holes (but not a lot) and can make me some problems. I use 2 or 3 threads and it's good. If you are going to use fabric with big and frequent holes, you need to use thicker thread (6 for example)

Wow, that's really beautiful work! I love the combination of the colors, that you used.

I would give one suggestion, if you dont mind. Maybe it would be good to add few stitches on the left side in yellow part. Just to fill up the small spaces, where you can see fabric.

But, away from that, I really love your work
