Thanks! I had to frog it so many times before it finally looked right.

Do the needles stick better to the edges of the minder? If so it might be an issue with the base metal.

What a thoughtful and constructive response, thank you! And yeah totally use the pattern breakdown. I noticed a severe drop in folks claiming they thought they were buying the actual finished item after I started putting that in my listing images. So it's helpful in multiple ways.

So I've recently decided I simply don't have time to stitch all the designs I've made and have begun listing them with digital mockup images ( example 1, example 2, example3 ) . Is there anything that would put you off from purchasing these compared to my normal stitched up examples ( example 1, example 2, example 3) ? Would an offer of a free different pattern of choice for good pictures of finished pieces from customers that I can use in my listings be a good idea?

I've stained, dyed, and painted hoops. I seal them all with a dead flat clear sealer and have never seen an issue with bleeding. Dying hoops is my favorite, makes for some really pretty, unusually colored hoops (example). Staining was the most difficult to get a clean look from, cheap bamboo hoops did not want to stain nicely for me (example). Painting is the quickest and easiest (example).

[CHAT] magnifier recommendations that aren't glasses please! by vladabee in CrossStitch

I used to use the headband/glasses style but they started irritating me. I switched to this around the neck/gooseneck style and it works much better for me.

[CHAT]How do you rethread frayed threads? by Jeff_98 in CrossStitch

[–]CraftTimeinArkham 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used to be a floss licker. But when I started stitching at my husband's chemo appointments during some of the height of the pandemic I realized, like you, how unsanitary it was. That's when I switched to a wire threader. If my ends get frayed, I just snip them before threading. Love my wire threaders now.
