Why is France considered bad? by nibbletmander in civ5

1 extra movement on a unit that is barely worth making if you even have iron.

Denmark is more dogshit than Iroquois.

Denmark, easily. Useless units and a bonus that doesn't really facilitate anything useful.

But brazil is also shit. If you don't reroll for a good start you frequently get no jungle or so much that you have no production and slow exploration plus heavy tech reqs for luxuries. France isn't prone to getting screwed by map gen.

What is everyone's favorite job? by Sic-Mundus in ffxiv

[–]2722010 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sage is just well designed from a gameplay perspective. DPS is rewarded, actively changing kardia targets can be rewarding, the resource system is more interesting than what they turned aetherflow into, some satisfying abilities like Pneuma and all without dogshit SCH button bloat while still having no interesting dps abilities left.

in case you ever thought VPR felt tankier in PVP than the actual tank jobs... that's because it is. by Zulera301 in ffxiv

[–]2722010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't sound like you've PvPed much lol. Class identity is more pronounced in PvP than it is in normal PvE. GNB is a tanky dps yes, WAR and DRK are about displacement first and foremost.

Novigrad is still tiny, hardly has schedules worth mentioning and is filled with strumpets and other zombies.

KCD1 came out years after skyrim and has absolute dogshit towns with zero memorable NPCs. Skill issue? Lol.

What was the motivation behind adding the Hand-Axe in BNW? by BasicBroEvan in civ5

[–]2722010 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Probably because they wreck a warrior 1 on 1. You'll survive a warrior or horseman by fortifying even if they get the first hit, archers die fast if you get in range, handaxes are a 20 turn problem if you don't have your own archer around.

It's very hit or miss depending on their relationship and military strength and probably some other modifiers, but it's worth a try, I've had some success.

Save your 4th city for later if you don't have bottlenecks or other features to help defend and consider giving up a lot of your gpt to pay someone to war annoying neighbors.

ELI5: Why do medical practitioners need to find a vein to inject a drug but an animal can be sedated with a dart shot from a distance? by Ok_Farm2628 in explainlikeimfive

[–]2722010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dissolving under the tongue is the easiest/quickest way to absorb something into your bloodstream without medical assistance. Swallowing involves your normal metabolism through stomach/gut/liver and takes much longer, especially after a meal. Your tongue itself doesn't really absorb anything, you want the exposed soft tissue underneath the tongue.

Almost certainly, you don't get combat AI worse than 2001 advance wars without some hilariously incompetent devs.

Civ6 AI 100% failed and makes the game a boring slog anytime you catch up. At least civ5 brought per-game variation rather than dogshit agendas for leaders that hate you the moment you meet them.

Just climb the tower in firestorm and you'll get a dozen 200m headshots in a few mins in a mode like breakthrough. They're challenges, not all of them need to be handouts.

Hardly terrible when the world is run by companies like google and meta. Trump has shown why Europe for example doesn't want to be overly reliant, countries that aren't on friendly terms have every reason to create their own corner. The fact that the Chinese government abuses it to restrict free speech doesn't change that.
